  1. This topic has a resemblance to the "Why don't we sign Colin Kaepernick?" threads on the Ravens forums a few years back.
  2. Kjerstad looks significantly better at the plate and Cowser was way more inconsistent on defense than I anticipated. Westburg also looked better at the plate and appears to be a top-level defender at 2B, which is where I'd leave him most of the time. I'm for the Henderson-Holliday-Westburg infield. 3B/SS, SS/2B and 2B/3B. McDermott has the better chance I think of being an impact relief pitcher. I prefer neither in my rotation plans; I'm imagining these pieces are traded for just that, front line pitching. Really would like to keep Santander's bat but Hays appeared to learn LF as the season progressed and having someone that can play the new Camden Yards LF well is a harder thing to find, I believe. Hays may also be cheaper. Everything points to Mayo having rare power. Rarer than Kjerstad. Rutschman is the reason why I take him over Basallo but that requires the team to keep Adley long term, which is what I'd do. People will probably not like my choice of Mateo but he like Mayo has an elite trait and Urias does not. So, left hand side all the way down. Nice exercise.
  3. I have never heard of a "memorandum of understanding" before. Anyone else? As long as it's legally binding I don't care what it's called though.
  4. How long is "soon" though? I mean, I believe it will be done... but soon means nothing to me, for one, when it comes to the Angelos family.
  5. Thank goodness - that is just wrong, winning 100 games and missing the playoffs. At least it ended on a good note (Yanks losing to KC). Wonder what the Orioles could've done?
  6. This has now attained legendary status because of Adley Rutschman. The Orioles were swept by Detroit May 13-15, 2022. They were almost swept by New York May 16-19 but won the last game. Adley is called up May 21. Have not been swept since. It's incredible.
  7. I still hate tanking, and this is the time to say it because there's no crutch to lean on for me. But considering they lost 115 freaking games before the "tank" started I'm not sure if it's a suitable label, rather than just an old-fashioned rebuild. That 2018 team still had Jones, Machado, Mancini, Schoop, Bundy, Gausman, Brach, Davis and Trumbo for most of the year. And Alex Cobb and Andrew Cashner. 115 games!! After the rebuild started in earnest they were only bad for three seasons, and I don't think they were intentionally losing games, they were just a skeleton team. It was the right thing to do. It had to be done. The only doubt in my mind was whether they would do it well or have a bad "rebuild" lasting a decade or more. They certainly did it well.
  8. Is the Norfolk Tides championship available on replay per chance?
  9. That surprises me that Toronto didn't win 100 games in the 80s and early 90s but indeed they topped out at 99 wins in 1985.
  10. Mr. Angelos said we need to massively hike prices up to compete remember?
  11. Best position player the Orioles minor league system produced between 1981 and 2012.
  12. For what it's worth Roy - other than my father - you're the one that taught me about Brooks Robinson. I was not part of that generation of fans, and I've never had the privilege of meeting Brooks, so I have to rely on others. A lot of us are in that boat. So, thank you.
