  1. I started taking them less seriously after they signed him to that ridiculous contract and my interest in the team was reduced even further when they botched the Machado trade. They will have to earn my attention and respect back. Drafting Heston Kjerkstad didn't exactly inspire confidence.
  2. I don't feel bad for Chris Davis in the least bit. It isn't his fault that he was offered that contract, but it is his fault that he isn't earning his guaranteed money. I'm stressed about my $3,000 tax bill (thank you GOP tax scam) whereas the next 3 generations of Davis' family never has to worry about money. Maybe if he pays my tax bill I will start feeling bad for him lol
  3. I think that some of you take statistics wayyyyy too seriously. Parra clearly brings an element to the team that they lacked, just watch the guy play. Travis Snider and all of the other platoon players were difficult to watch and they weren't getting the job done. The fact that Snider had 1 win of value illustrates how comical sabermetrics can be.
  4. I think we can all agree that we would rather he still be with the Orioles than with the red sox. Especially since Bundy will probably never pitch for the Orioles and Harvey hasn't been able to stay healthy.
  5. They are drafting better but it isn't like they have done a good job. Matusz and Hobgood are busts and Harvey and Bundy can't stay healthy. The Orioles absolutely need Bundy, Harvey and Gausman to be good major league starting pitchers. At least two of them need to be solid. Gausman has shown flashes but Bundy and Harvey can't stay healthy. My biggest issue is that cheap organizations need cheap talent and the Orioles traded one of their higher prospect to a team in the division for a rental. It's difficult to accept. I haven't declared him an ace. He is, however, a left handed prospect with a lot of upside and they traded him to a team in the division for a rental. Seeing as how they probably won't resign Chen, they could use a lefty for next season.
  6. How is it a reach? The Orioles have done a miserable job developing pitchers in the past 20+ years.
  7. 20.2 innings is more than Hunter Harvey and Dylan Bundy will probably pitch combined this year. The point is, the Orioles don't develop pitchers yet they still traded their only healthy prospect who also happens to to a lefty to a division rival. Cheap organizations need cheap talent. Please see my post above. You're right, Arrieta did need a change of scenery. Why do you think that is?
  8. Eduardo Rodriguez and Jake Arrieta are the two best pitchers to come through the Orioles system since Mike Mussina....and the Orioles traded them for two rental players.
