  1. There is always an In Memoriam montage before the home opener. Hopefully people put their personal feelings about the Angelos family aside and STFU during the moment of silence.
  2. You also get a free MLB.TV subscription if you have an Orioles ticket plan, FYI.
  3. Now, now. What if those tickets were bought by the Nevin family?
  4. You mean the announcement of Jackson Holliday to AAA hasn't sent the prices of OD tickets plummeting? Weird.
  5. Our relationship to sports owners is strange. Peter Angelos helped a lot of people through his career in law and through his charitable efforts, and also presided over a lot of bad baseball teams. A lot of people in Orioles fandom who are calling his legacy "mixed" would happily sing his unqualified praises if he made his money PRODUCING asbestos or tobacco and then used that money to win a few championships. If we all must face a divine judge after death, I would hope that what we do for people matters more than how many trophies we win. RIP.
  6. If the Orioles start 13-17 it means they have bigger issues than Ramon Urias playing second.
  7. While it's true that Holliday >>> Wong, you don't want Holliday up here to ride the bench five times a week and you don't care if Wong does. I don't really understand the service time angle here. Why does John Angelos care if he's on the 2030 Orioles? In 2030 John won't have anything to do with the team.
  8. Pretty sneaky of Brightman to insert the jersey patch thing in there like it's some kind of barometer for the health of the franchise that we should be excited about.
  9. If the Red Sox are going look to the future and sell off pieces, O's should be in on Chris Martin.
  10. It's not the age, necessarily. I think the issue is that Elias is basically Gunnar and Adley's boss. Those guys have some clout as stars, but Elias is still making the big decisions about where Gunnar plays, how much rest Adley gets, lineup spots, etc. If Elias goes to them and says, "I'm thinking about making this move, are you on board or not?" are they really empowered to say no?
  11. Good list. You can add Cole Irvin's rough start and Jorge Mateo being an automatic out for three months.
  12. If Elias was resigned to Burnes essentially replacing Bradish for all of 2024, he would have pushed Bradish into the operating room ASAP because they don't have a 2025 replacement.
  13. The one shred of hope I'm clinging to is that if Elias really thought that surgery was >90% likely he wouldn't let Bradish wait this long before getting it. By waiting they're jeopardizing a good chunk of 2025.
  14. If the Rays were ever able to have their five most talented guys in a healthy rotation all at once they'd win 120 games.
  15. If TJ is an inevitability for Bradish, Elias should have pushed for him to have it a month ago when the injury first transpired. This is now eating well into his 2025 season, as well.
