  1. It'll be aight. Could be warmer, but whatever. Suck it up ladies. Knock down a couple pops.
  2. Ryan & Rocco had Tim Kurkjian on this evening. I've never met him, but he seems like a genuinely nice human being.
  3. It looks like Philly & NY are gonna get it worse than us.
  4. John's tenure was really frustrating mostly because of his inability to keep his mouth shut. He didn't learn from his father that it's best to STFU when it comes to the media. But he modernized the organization. He allowed significant change to occur. Change that was desperately needed. I'm conflicted because he actually did a lot of good things that will allow us some good times over the next 7-10 years. Now, he likely did it knowing a sale was forthcoming so I'm not claiming it wasn't at least a little self serving. But in that process, he turned this isn't a big boy organization and implemented an analytics team that is absolutely essential to competition both now & in the future.
  5. You aren't sufficiently celebrating his death, obviously.
  6. Agree and I'm very sure she couldn't care much less, either. She sounds like a person living her dream job. Good for her.
  7. This is obviously true, yeah. Assistant GM's rarely get the spotlight just like long snappers rarely get the spotlight. What was also clear in talking with Rosenbaum, and Orioles Executive Vice President and General Manager Mike Elias, the fact that she's a woman doing this job isn't that big of a deal. She's just really good at it. She's no DEI hire. The org is lucky to have her. https://www.wbaltv.com/article/eve-rosenbaum-orioles-assistant-gm-womens-history-month/60231800
  8. I’m sure Matt Holliday doesn’t have his head in the sand. He’s absolutely right about his son being better than… Tony Kemp? Obviously the best players don’t always make it out of spring training. I’m sure his message to his kid was “It is what it is. Continue to control the controllables.” Elias has plausible deniability. He hasn’t played that many games at second base (or anywhere for that matter) at AAA. But it’s pretty clear to anyone with a pulse that he checks all the boxes and is only going to improve. Gunnar got the same treatment, really. Elias has been consistent. Trust the process, I guess. It’s worked swimmingly thus far.
  9. Uh, I see no reason to exclude Eve Rosenbaum from any thanks whatsoever. She should definitely be included. Thanks, Eve!!!!!! Keep up your amazing work (other than Kemp.) Seriously... if she was the GM, she'd get plenty of public thanks. And I'm sure she gets plenty of thanks internally. She's a savage. She'll definitely be a GM someday. But how about Erika Littlefield? Julia Wapner? Ramon Alarcon? Thanks to everyone in the front office for all their hard work getting this organization off the mat. It takes a village and we've got a damn good village.
  10. I was working on Redwood Street slinging mortgages.
  11. I remember one year Rodrigo Lopez standing in a snow squall on opening day.
