  1. As long as there is no salary cap, it will never end. Other teams can’t just overpay and stash their mistakes on the bench or in the minors. Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox and Cubs use this to their advantage and are in the playoffs more often than not...and then you have the Dodgers $100 million bench vs. minor league call ups or rag tag bench veterans for the Brewers. People outside those cities just aren’t interested in the same old, same old. MLB needs a salary cap, just like all the other North American professional leagues. They also need a pitch clock.
  2. Should have taken 2 out of 3 but it's ok, kind of evens out with the game that Tampa blew on Thursday. On to Boston, hopefully Tillman and Britton are close to return.
  3. Great start so far but really need to fix this Gausman situation. They will need him; good thing Bundy and Miley are pitching extremely well.
  4. Every time they look like they are about to be put in their coffin, they pull something lol. Still in a very, very precarious situation. The Boston sweep means they have to sweep Arizona now AND steal 2 more games than what they would normally need next week on the road. It's going to be tough. Maybe the Yankees are out by then and are 100% focused on vacation planning. It's going to be very tough, that's the unfortunate part of the Boston sweep. It's not so much the division, they just needed 2 games from that series to maintain standing as WC favorite
  5. Huge, huge win tonight. Makes up for yesterday IMO. Now get the next 2, boys!
  6. This one makes up for Oakland debacle. Having said that, it sure looks like the home dominance has to continue and road play has to continue to improve. Houston and Detroit will have easier paths towards wild card spot(s)
  7. Forgot to say, Os have amazing heart and character. IMO, that's their biggest strength.
  8. Not many teams can do what the Orioles did today. I would say their opponent today is one of the few that can.
  9. Big win! Every time it looks bleak, they find a way. 1 more W in this series and not only would it be impressive but it would save road trip. A sweep (which would be miraculous IMO) and Oakland debacle won't even be remembered
  10. Sedlock for sure. Before getting Miley and inserting Bundy, it was looking like Sedlock might be in an Orioles uniform by September!
  11. Interesting and good stats, but I just don't see the W total getting there this season. You have too many head to head in a 3 horse race. In the past it's generally been a 1 horse or 2 horse race if I'm remembering correctly.
  12. I think the way to look at it is to get to or beat a target number. Does 93 win division? Let's say it does. Just get to that win total and it doesn't matter what other teams do
  13. Grind. It's what the Orioles do! But please let's get one more solid SP
  14. Boston goes down again. Unexpected but thank you twins!!
