  1. Actually, many are saying this already.
  2. I would think the Reds may want him as well considering their injury situation.
  3. 10.1 IP 15 H 14 R 10 BB 17 K 12.19 ERA 2.42 WHIP (2021 Ohtani spring training)
  4. One thing interesting that WS board continued to bring up is the age of certain prospects. I certainly understand that 23 year old will be rated higher than 25 year old. However, WS normally trade away players before their hitting free agency. Those 2 years may not make any difference if they become competent major leaguers by 28 year olds.
  5. Totally agree. All fan bases will be like that. Cease really is a difficult player to rate as well. It is obvious that the White Sox wanted pitching heavy returns from the beginning with what they asked from the Reds.
  6. Many in the WS forum still thinks Cease is one of the best pitcher in MLB and did not get enough for him. Many in the Padres forum thinks the trade was sever overpay. This alone makes the trade close to even.

    Carter Baumler

What is the status of Carter Baumler this spring? Is he healthy now after several injured years? He was such highly regarded prospect when drafted.
  8. Dean Kremer in 2023 had 8.183 K per 9 innings. His 2023 number is the 8th best K/9 inning for qualified pitchers in Orioles history. Kyle Bradish had 8.964 K/9 which was good for 3rd best in Orioles history.
  9. How many days has he stayed on waiver? He may have spent more days on waiver than with a team this offseason.
  10. Tim's interview last week on Remember When was really interesting. He was talking about his time at Sports Illustrated and why he went over to ESPN.
  11. There are several things that teams do I cannot understand. 1. Signing DH only players 2. Draft and develop exclusively relief pitchers 3. Spending a high draft pick on 1B Obviously, there are some exceptions but these limit team's roster options.
  12. Trading for major bullpen arms quite often turns into bad investment. For every Andrew Miller (some may say this was not a good trade), there are many disasterous ones like Jorge Lopez, Heathcliff Slocomb, Larry Anderson, Eric Gagne, John Rauch, so on. Trading for elite relief pitchers sounds good yet many of them they do not work out well. It is much better to develop them or make low key moves. Look at the Orioles bullpen or the Yankees. Very good bullpen arms without investing heavily into them. Kimbrell signing was an out of character siging for Elias.
  13. There is one pitching category that Cease is #1 in past 3 years for qualified pitchers, and it is not even close: pitches thrown per inning. Also, he has thrown more pitches than anyone over that time frame. Is that good or bad?
