Some sloppy defense by Norby and the SS cost him two runs. In my opinion. Maybe Norby was just unlucky not getting a tag on a base stealer. But the SS should of been able to make an inning ending play.

I think you misremember even Oriole history let alone baseball history. I have heard Palmer and Dempsey going on and on about the fans in a "we" mentality. Dempsey even brought up the fans as another player basically. Dempsey would go out and wave at Wild Bill and get him to get the crowd pumped so that the players could feed off it. I think this era of Orioles players thought of the fans as "we" And its silly to bring up money. No one is going to give away any money.

When I watch more than 150 games a year I think the Orioles would put a fan like me in the "we" category.

Yeah we would have to get the guy to give up smoking.

Funny thing is would they have changed the intentionally losing rules if the Orioles had not just SCORED everytime in the draft? WE actually changed a baseball rule. Elias and Sig changed an actual rule to make it impossible to dominate like we did. If we had scored at the normal rate with draft picks no one really would of noticed the Orioles were tanking games.

I think the Baseball Gods realized finally that they had been screwing Baltimore for four decades. To show us the proper love they decided we would succeed with ALL the drafts for now on.

Interesting question. All glove no bat can work sometimes like Mark Belanger(however I think if he had modern weight lifting he might of been a little better hitter) The old Oriole teams had defense so good that they saved the pitchers a lot of innings and unearned runs a year. I think the book Moneyball suggested if you had a team of all average players you would do very well. So I don't know. Is Rafeal Devers a plus ten bat minus ten defensive guy? I honestly think this guy should move to first base. I think he kills Boston but I really respect the bat.

If we could go back in time to 1905 we would likely win 120 games a year and be burned at the stake for witchcraft. It is still odd that the Orioles are helping their players and not total dysfunctional. That is what I am used to as an Oriole fan.

Everyone on that list is an Oriole developed product except O'Hearn and possibly Santander on the rule 5 that is an amazing list of players. All home grown.
