You’re not wrong but most people were happy with the Burnes trade. Context always matters . There are guys to trade but Kjertsad would be at the bottom of my list. He’s developed into exactly what the FO hoped for while overcoming terrible circumstances to start his career, and will fit a need position when current guys on the roster are wisely let go into free agency. I’d prefer to keep the guy leading MiLB in hitting that mashes and has shown already that he really wants to play baseball.

Heston hit an absolute bomb tonight. A couple of other hard hit balls from other guys that didn’t pay off. Norby threw a ball into the stands on a relay home. Stowers lollygagged (that’s right lollygaggers!) a ground ball into shallow left center into a double for the Shrimp. That runner scored on a single to right. Defense last night was half assed as well. Daniel Johnson had the best defensive play of the game tonight - hosed a guy at third on a fly ball to right. Victor Mesa Jr. is legit.

As bad as the line looks, it was really worse than that. Command was bad and the strikes he threw got CRUSHED. Bride destroyed two balls tonight. Bombs. Uninspiring effort all around…nice night at the park for the 5 innings I stayed though.

I’m much more concerned about the bullpen - the hitting will come or be replaced by AAA guys.

Did anyone see the Tides last night? Looks like Means threw well in a short outing. Povich looks good today.
