  1. I've read different takes but having this full article, particularly with the parts quoted by @ThisIsBirdland above, makes me feel somewhat better about it. The other day, I DM'd a former player who's now on MLB Network, sending him Elias' explanation that was quoted in one of these threads. His response was, "These decisions are always tough, u just don't want him to get discouraged b/c he is already disappointed. I've been. He knows he has nothing left to prove but he's not the first and won't be the last!" Am glad to now read the quote below from Matt Holliday, from the article. The parenting Jackson has received to bring him this far seems to be a bonus we will continue to benefit from:
  2. Pretty sure his post was /s (sarcasm), as a paraphrase of the quoted post?
  3. Fair enough about Teheran. However, the majority of his reply was about Irvin, leading me to believe he was questioning my opinion of Irvin, not Teheran. Hence my reply.
  4. I prefer not to have anyone tell me what's motivating my opinions. My preference of Teheran over Irvin is based on my own distaste for Irvin, never have liked him and unless he changes significantly, never will. Based on what I've seen of him over the past seasons. Does my opinion not match yours? Fine, but please refrain from telling me why I feel the way I do.
  5. It seems pretty clear to me now that both acquisitions were in case of spring training injury. We delightfully stayed mostly healthy all spring (with Bradish coming along as well as he has, and Means just a ruse to save his innings for the postseason IMO), so that made them less necessary - even unnecessary. I will say that after watching Teheran yesterday, I'm really bummed they chose Irvin over him.
  6. Burnes and Wells appearances have me so excited for the start of the season!
  7. I didn’t realize Teheran had also opted out. He really looked good today, his numbers skewed a tiny bit by some defensive gaffes behind him. Do the Os also have to make a decision on him tomorrow?
  8. My sincere condolences to his family as they deal with the reality of his passing, and everything that goes along with being such a high-profile public figure. May they all find peace. RIP
  9. Haha I just heard that. In his defense, I think he said twenty-five feet.
  10. Got delayed. Holliday is definitely making the team. My gosh.
  11. Robinson has amazing speed.
