  1. It's been well noted that Kimbrel isn't great at holding runners and can be run on. Given Adell's 91% sprint speed (yes, I know stolen base technique is something else altogether) I thought letting him run wasn't a bad move. He had a hell of a jump, I was surprised that the play was as close as it was.
  2. It remains to be seen. I agree with the Tier 1 losers, those teams have no hope. The rest of the group listed, some of those teams are playing to see exactly how far they are from their contention and if they should stay the course or blow it up. For example, I don't peg the Nationals to be sellers, they've got some good young talent coming up and are firmly entrenched in their rebuild. I think they should add to it, but I don't see them selling off anyone who they could have team control over for the next few years and identify as part of their rebuild. I'm assuming Mason Miller would cost a high premium to pry away from the A's, but he'd slot in perfectly to be able to bridge to Kimbrel and maybe be a 1-2 closer combo with Bautista when he returns. Beeks from the Rockies. I'd be really focused on upgrading the bullpen. I think the rotation has a chance to be solid.
  3. I said Gunnar earlier. Before this season, I could have seen a case for Adley. And I love Adley, great hitter (I don't think he's ever going to be a big power guy, but plate approach, contact, key hits, he's great) leader, heart and soul, etc. But it's clearly Gunnar. I didn't expect him to be this good, this fast. He's separating himself from the rest of the pack, not only on this team but throughout the league. Whether or not an extension can happen is a different story altogether. But Gunnar's the guy I'd go with first.
  4. I know some of you guys love Power Rankings! This week on ESPN, the Orioles are #2 behind the Braves. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40016247/mlb-2024-power-rankings-week-4-braves-orioles-dodgers-guardians
  5. I'm really broken up about it.
  6. Aren’t you the guy that declared a game over last week cause of a baserunning error in the first inning?
  7. Agreed. Seems like the last three times out they’ve pulled him when he’s looked sharp and could still keep going. Kimbrel has been a godsend.
  8. Hey, you know how fans whine when certain teams get all the calls and it’s unfair? We can be that team!
