  1. Delmon Young needs to throw out the first pitch for ALDS game 2! (assuming of course the Orioles win the division and host ALDS game 2)
  2. A win is a win, and a Tampa loss is a Tampa loss, it doesn't matter when they happen in relationship to each other, both bring the magic number down by one. I'm all for being strategic about rest, but with a 1.5 game lead, the idea of actively or tacitly throwing a game is ridiculous.
  3. Never forget, we are talking about a guy who couldn't pass the bar exam after attending a law school where the primary building is literally named after his father.
  4. I've got my retired father in law on cue to sign in at 10 am tomorrow, hoping for ALCS game 1 tickets. I got tickets for ALDS game 1 in 2012 in the general public sale and it wasn't too difficult. I hope with the advancements in bot technology it won't be impossible.
  5. I say No! A little bit more of a celebration beyond the standard handshake line after a win is fine. But no dogpile, no champagne in the locker room, and no wearing gear (not sure if the team has a choice about that for $$ reasons). This team is in position to win the division, keep the eye on the prize and lets have a big celebration when that happens.
  6. If Grayson has and easy 8th… ya gotta go for the CG shutout!
  7. Call me crazy, but I don't want to have the division all but wrapped up by the Tampa series. For drama and entertainment value I'm looking forward to a classic late September battle royal between two teams gunning for the division title... with the O's coming out on top of course.
  8. Mountain Time!!!! If MASN has done one thing right it's that they decided to follow the Met's lead from last year and not go to commercial for the closer intro. Are other teams doing this?
  9. I was old enough to be a fan in 97' 98' but not old enough to understand the reasons why the Orioles went from first place and a Championship contender to utterly mediocre and settling into the 4th place position they occupied for most of the next 15 years. From what I remember the team (inexplicably) fired Davey Johnson but brought back almost everyone else from the 97' team but just stunk up the joint. Can anyone else help me understand why there was such a regression between these two seasons?
  10. I tell you I was mad as hell when Mussina signed with the Yankees... I was also 9 years old. Now c'mon, I don't know how any O's fan could honestly still hold a grudge, for leaving... but we can be a little peeved that it was to the Yankees, just as the O's were being relegated from rival to punching bag for the Evil Empire. That said, no his number shouldn't be retired. Retiring a number is mostly about the quality of the player, but it also has a lot to do with the connection to the city, Mussina doesn't have that. Part of it is that is that unfortunately he didn't play on any of the championship teams, but another part of it is that he left in his prime to play for the Yankees.
