  1. Well, kind of a bummer to see Ryu go to Korea, but I respect it, and it's good for baseball overall. Good for him.
  2. Haven't seen this posted yet - seems like Ryu is considering heading back to S. Korea's KBO league. https://bnnbreaking.com/sports/ryu-hyun-jin-eyes-return-to-hanwha-eagles-poised-to-make-kbo-history
  3. I'm fairly certain the proper term is "bird of war" stance... or maybe it's "war bird"?
  4. I highly recommend watching/listening to the Zack Britton interview on the Adam Jones podcast that just came out yesterday. At around the 25+ minute mark, Zack talks essentially about the balancing of analytics with the instincts of good baseball people. He talks about how through his brother Buck, he knows that the Orioles are doing both, which is great to hear. Also, there's a bit about how Adam was yelling at Zack to put himself into the wild card game, which I had never heard before and is hilarious.
  5. I thought I heard (maybe it was on the Adam Jones podcast?) that the writers voted right after the season ended? Can anyone confirm?
  6. This is disgusting. At least going to the games you don't have to listen to these asshat announcers. Salt in the wound.
  7. Remember Fox or ESPN with the decibel meter in the dugout? I was so proud of how loud the stadium was - even though I wasn't there. Hopefully there will be some deafeningly loud moments this weekend. I will be there for the games on Saturday & Sunday and will not be leaving with a voice. This video is a better recap in my opinion - it has fan shots mixed in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDQ-14NSRog
  8. I was 11 years old for the 1997 playoffs. I had moved at the end of summer to Pittsburgh, something I was extremely not happy about. This is embarassing, but I watched the ALCS on a little black and white TV while pretending to pitch (glove and all) & bat in my living room depending on if the O's were pitching/batting. Alomar getting rung up was traumatic. I'm pretty sure I was bawling and rolling around on the floor screaming at my parents for screwing up the juju by moving the family away from Baltimore. lol This Orioles team is now officially the best team of my lifetime. Can't wait to go to my first Orioles playoff game next Saturday.
  9. Seemed like the right call. The frame where his foot goes vertical, he didn't yet have the ball by like... 1 frame on the side shot. On the shot from behind, when his foot is in that position, it's off the bag.
