  1. Boston, 11 April. Cowser be like, "Jackson who?"
  2. Same. After the third or fourth blown ball/strike call in one inning, I was like, why bother even caring, when the game is hijacked like that?
  3. Not only that, they (and Gunnar) showed the newest kid how it gets done--with kind of a coming out party for both of them, as well as JH. Like, "See, it's not that hard. Remember how we mashed our way through the minors?"
  4. Realizing you probably are making this up for fun (even 10 days after April 1), it's still conceivable (edit: sans the dab)! People are funny sometimes, what motivates them or triggers them; the psychological subplot. I'm not trying to support this fictitious speculation, more just the stance of "Who really knows?" and "Why not?"
  5. With excess like Urias (gold glove) or Hays (all-star) to shop around, comps that come to mind are Gerardo Parra (for Zach Davies) and Travis Snider (for Steven Brault). So yeah, we should be able to net a deal like that (in reverse, for the O's).

    Norfolk April 9th

Shades of 1919 home run leaders (Babe Ruth 29, Gavvy Cravath 12).
  7. Interesting new point here. Cue my pet peeve about the top of the strike zone being called at the belt instead of (correct me if I'm wrong on the rulebook) "at the letters."
  8. Looked pretty decent to me. I didn't catch the velo (focusing on simultaneous O's game!). Appeared to focus on FB located on the non-arm side, hitting target well.

    yup... it's almost Ravens territory.

    Tides scores, first seven games: 12-8 12-6 5-17 10-6 26-11 9-8 11-10 some laughers, some nail-biters!

    Kyle Stowers 2024

3 HRs in a game, twice, in the first five games. Hot!
  12. as of the moment... (before another hit by Mayo...)
  13. This one stands out to me as the most surprising: 910 AB: AVG In other words, nearly two full seasons to accurately predict the next...?
  14. In this case I would take that to mean, say, using 10% of the Orioles' 70 seasons, rather than the first 10% of any given season!
  15. Love the Sid Bream reference--except it was so memorable precisely because he was so slow (combined with the relative anonymity of the game-winning hitter, Francisco Cabrera. That play ("The Slide") even has its own Wikipedia page! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Slide_(Atlanta_Braves)
