  1. I for one was expecting him to OPS 1.400 for the entire year and break Ruth's record for single-season WAR.
  2. He's still OPSing .883 in the past 7 days despite cooling off! Having good plate discipline helps him a lot.
  3. would you trade for hunter harvey? He's been an elite reliever for over a year now that he's finally healthy. He's familiar with us and he'd cost way less than Miller.
  4. A barrel is dependent on both EV and launch angle, and the range of acceptable launch angles is dependent on how hard it's hit. He gave up a HR against the Brewers that barely cleared the 373 sign, and the EV was 99 MPH and the angle was 36. The range of acceptable launch angles for a 99 MPH batted ball is 25-31.
  5. Henderson is not amused about getting hit for the 2nd time.
  6. Yeah and that's why the whole "trout can't hit the high heat" narrative is dumb, because if it's an inch too low he hits it to Mars.
  7. They can always go 40 miles north if they want to watch quality baseball.
  8. Hit his ankle or shin. He didn't appear to have his foot planted so it didn't look terrible, but he did grimace afterward. It's also a pitching change.
  9. The Angels fans have had enough of this game.
  10. Bad sequencing. We've left a bajillion runners on.
  11. Sano, the plus-sized vacuum cleaner, jesus.
  12. I think that sort of thing is something that's a lot easier to train when you're in your teens or early 20s. When you're in the majors it becomes really hard to make the needed adjustments against major league pitching. On top of that I think some of that knowledge/teaching becomes crystalized and older players are less able to make wholesale changes.
  13. I wonder what kind of player Mountcastle would be if he developed under Elias' player development system. Every player that's come up in the Elias era has had at least average plate discipline. He might be a perennial all star if Elias' team would have been able to coach swing decisions to him.
  14. do you actually dislike Kevin or are you just pointing out the stuff that annoys you?
