  1. I'm curious what happens to Cashman, more so than Boone. And if Cashman goes, who do they recruit? David Stearns? I'd also laugh if Buck got canned from the Mets and was somehow brought back to the NYYs, the irony would amuse me.
  2. Agreed, and we know that he can get on a serious heater for a stretch at times...not that it'll do much to help the Mets at this point but I'm glad he's taking advantage of his opportunity.
  3. They're also just not very good at protecting the basepaths. From Roch's blog yesterday: "The Orioles have thrown out 26.7 percent of runners attempting to steal, the fourth highest in the league. Seattle ranks last in the majors at 13.3 percent"
  4. Jimmy Yacabonis DFA'd (again) by the Mets, being replaced by another former Oriole, Denyi Reyes
  5. I was going for rarity today, and trying to think of someone random for the upper left, turns out Kinda agitated me because there are plenty of other options I could think of without trying to be clever. Oh well.
  6. I mean, Manny Machado was smashing dingers in the Majors at 19. I'm not saying Holliday hasn't absolutely impressed, he has, but there are plenty of comps.
  7. It would be great if he could get his velocity back to triple-digits and we have a full fire-throwing bullpen come the post-season. Use him like a rookie Chris Sale or David Price in the late innings. Here's to hoping.
  8. I've come to realize I really suck at remembering guys who played on NL Central teams.
  9. I know he's a superstar, but I really don't think he gets much past $400mm over 10 years, maybe with some club options tacked on that in writing make it $500mm overall if they pick them up. I just really can't see it. The Mets and Padres are watching their teams full of superstars burn down, and Steve Cohen was probably the best shot at $500+ and he might be once-bitten, twice shy at this point. Shohei may be a year late to the paycheck party.
  10. For all the things that Odor isn't as a baseball player, he will always be The Champ.
  11. Might just be the opposing teams youngin's nerves, but I have to imagine if you read his scouting reports and know his speed as an opponent, it will definitely make you jumpy in fielding.
  12. I used Mike Trout for the GG/SS answer too and only then did I learn he's never won a gold glove. I was very surprised.
