Unfortunately, money talks. Go to Tulum, 30 years ago these incredible Mayan ruins overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches in the world were untouched, and now all you see are these huge hotels.
I think Montgomery was a desperation move for the D-Backs. I bet E-Rod's injury is worse than they are letting on. Montgomery likely won't make a start until May and if he's bad, and his option vests he's making 50M dollars. I get he looked good in a few playoff games, but he looked bad in a couple as well last year. I'm not going to pretend he's Andy Pettitte out there in the playoffs.
More of a nice-to-have than a must-have where I'm sitting.
Oh, you're talking about Matt not having the right to complain? I read it as if you were saying he would have been amenable for Jackson to sign a contract before he even made the big team.
I think you read too much into the comment. He was basically saying Chourio wouldn't be on the big team if he didn't sign a contract. They would be trying to get an extra year of control of him.
So they took a snip from the blurb where he wasn't "unhappy" and the Banner takes 1 small quote without the full context, which Holliday was completely reasonable in his assessment and now he's unhappy. This is why social media and journalism have become a meme.
According to Bowden (yeah, I know, I know) there are two teams with long-term deals in to him now. We'll find out one way or the other probably this week I assume.
When the whole thing was announced months ago they stated that this is not uncommon. It's not like JA would be making the day to decisions but his family has owned the team for 3 decades so I'm sure there are some things he'd be useful for in the transfer.
If you have certain plans on T-Mobile, don't forget to claim your free year of MLB.TV. Goes live tomorrow the 26th. I'm happy to save 150 bucks being an out-of-market fan.
