  1. My twins were born in 2000, and one of them asked me during the 2010 season, "Dad, why do you watch the Orioles? They never win. " The reason I gave her was that my dad instilled upon me a love of the O's and baseball, and that means in the good and the bad times. We are in a really good time now, but I'll watch them no matter what.
  2. It's not that I didn't acknowledge her. It's that I didn't even know who she was and that the O's even had an Assistant GM
  3. Shrug... At least it's not as bad a response as Claudio/Danielle Reyna and Gio Reyna
  4. For someone thinking it was a silly question, you sure did have a lot to say about it. I wouldn't say it was silly, maybe just early timed
  5. I guess that assumes they think Stowers couldn't offer more offensive production against LH than McKenna. I'm not convinced that's the case. McKenna's lifetime OPS splits against RH/LH is 613/621. In 2023 it was reverse split at 731/638. In any event, I suppose I want to be more focused on overall value. Can Stowers potentially offer more value than McKenna's WAR of 0.6 over 3 seasons?
  6. I think you could be right, and that frustrates me. I think we've seen everything we're going to see from McKenna, and his value is so much tilted towards defense. Stowers and Kjerstad may not have the defensive strength and flexibility of McKenna, but my guess is that we would get more aggregate WAR out of them.
  7. I thought we had picked up some different player off the waiver wire.
  8. Other than his speed, I'm not sure he's ever thrived in a non-starting role. I predict a low .600 OPS and just below replacement value.
  9. My issue is that Mateo's production seems awful when he is part time (maybe his defense suffers too?)
  10. If Mateo isn't going to play much SS, I'm not sure why he would go north with the team.
  11. Henderson SS Rutschman C Mountcastle 1B Santander DH Hays LF Holliday 2B Mullins CF Westburg 3B Cowser RF
  12. My dream scenario... Urias and Mateo are traded/released and... Henderson SS Rutschman C Mountcastle 1B Santander DH Hays LF Holliday 2B Mayo 3B Cowser RF Westburg 3B
  13. How dare he keep the O's from winning 102 games instead of 101 with his sole error last year!
