  1. Myself included. That said I'm paying attention to see if he can maintain his hot start to the season. He's looking pretty good right now.
  2. Even in spring training where he impressed in most respects, Holliday still struck out a third of the time, so the K's shouldn't be a surprise to anyone including Mike Elias. IMO the O's have made an investment that includes a short-term loss factored in. There's too much value waiting to be unlocked to bail out early.
  3. Thanks. It's been a long time since I visited The Sun.
  4. There aren't many narratives that are more satisfying to me than an underappreciated guy sticking it to all the doubters - the more relentlessly the better. O'Hearn got a last chance that objectively he didn't deserve and didn't squander it. I really respect that. I don't know who Jacob Calvin Meyer is, but evidently he has a crystal ball that works. Might be a valuable dude to get to know.
  5. So far, Ryan O'Hearn is a great story and one that I really enjoy watching. I hope it continues. Middle reliever is right around the consensus value we had on him in January wasn't it? Of course in January, we were focused on packaging Kjerstad in a Cease deal so maybe trading O'Hearn would have been unwise. Or was it Cowser we wanted to put in the package? Gosh we were stupid lmao.
  6. Not really, because context matters. So does sample size assuming you're trying to find some kind of meaning.

I didn't hear the exchange, but I've heard enough from Ben McDonald to know that he could cut Kevin Brown pretty deeply in a good ole boy kinda way without breaking a sweat if he wanted to. I don't expect that because McDonald strikes me as a pro, but maybe KB should understand that goodnatured ribbing in front of others might not be appreciated by the recipient in the way it was intended and adjust his sense of humor accordingly. A lot of people have been put in that position and have a great deal of residual resentment from the experience. Why would a broadcaster ever want to go there?
  8. I guess O'Hearn didn't get the memo that he was only only on the team to keep a spot warm. He keeps acting like a solid middle-of-the-order ML ballplayer.
  9. Chicks dig the long ball and so does Rob Manfred and the MLB brain trust, judging by the ban on sticky stuff, the postage stamp sized strike zone and a few other things. I'm skeptical that anything that decreases offense will even reach the discussion stage even though the problem is a very real one IMO.
  10. Can someone explain to me why a slow start to a major league career warrants discussion about that player's choice to get married?
  11. There are private universities with media programs that are better equipped than MASN looks to be. I worry that the revenue outlook for MASN doesn't justify investing to improve it too.

It's not legit until you still start laughing at the ones you make while nobody else does.
  13. Roster Resource has Hays at one option left and slightly over 4 years service time.
