Tough break for Arsenal today Nasri looking like he's out for three weeks. Potentially missing both legs of the Barca tie.

I don't know, I tend to agree with this: http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/new...ando-torres-go
I think you're selling high.

Is he worth 35 million? No. Do I rate him? Yes. Does a partnership of Suarez and Carrol excite me? Very much so. We're a better team then we were a week ago. Torres hasn't been Torres in 18 months. Crazy money, but who could they have gotten on such short notice? FSG has serious cajones.

Not EPL related, but why would they just cancel the Egypt vs. USA game? Can't they just play elsewhere? Or at the very least reschedule for a slightly later date? I was really looking forward to that game.

Yeah, we obviously over paid. I don't like the Villa comparison because he's 29 and he was never going to go any where else other then Barca. If he was open to going anywhere it would have been higher.
I think 20-25 million is what Caroll should have. Couple that with no time to negotiate and a high premium for getting him on the last day, we probably over paid by 10-15 million. I don't care if they overspend. Remember how awful things were 6 months ago? I'd take this situation any day of the week.
At the very least, you must admit--money aside--that Suarez/Caroll makes you a pinch excited for both the short term and long term.

Yes absolutely. I think we're better off now, Caroll has bags of potential he's a hard man something we've lacked since Mascherano left. Thanks to John Henry for putting his money where his mouth is and not being held ransom by those plassy plastic waving cockneys.
Also wonder if they money could have been better spent in the summer. Anyways like you said given the fact that we were almost in administration in November this is a more then welcomed change.
