So, Fausto Carmona is supposedly drawing heavy trade interest
From many teams, that is.

Two questions.
1. Would you be interested in Carmona? I know there was a weird rumor floating around a few years ago that we were asking for Carmona and Mills in trade for BRob, IIRC. Not sure about the validity of that one though.
2. Provided you're interested, what kinda package would you be prepared to offer? And do you think it'd be enough?

When he's on, he's Brad Bergesen with a little more BBs, I'd guess.

I would ask about Carmona, but I wouldn't want to give up much.
Like Bergesen he has the potential to be a pretty good mid-rotation starter, but it's unlikely he'll recapture his one great season. Also, unless we're trading Tillman or Arrieta for a 1b, I wouldn't want to bump one of them from the starting rotation at the start of 2011, and Carmona would take one of their SP spots without providing a great long-term gain.

I'd be interested in Fausto but I doubt the Indians would be willing to accept the small amount I'd be willing to give up.

I'd be interested but I bet the price is too high.

Pass. Obviously I'd rather have him than not, but I don't think he'll be worth the cost.

No. He makes number one starter money, and he's not a number one.

I've seen him pitch in person,he's a great Pitcher, however he gets in a slump about 3-6 starts a season it seems.

He'll be 27 all of next season, and should just be entering his prime pitching years. The biggest problem with Carmona, outside of the lack of K's and control, is the inconsistency from year to year and injuries. 2007 he was looking like a future stud, then the next two years he forgets how to pitch and can't stay healthy, and now he looks viable again. Maybe he's figured it out and will remain consistent, but I wouldn't bet on it with his track record. He's a guy that I wouldn't object to, but not someone I'd give up much to get.
