    Someone please explain to me

How we aren't close to if not on par with the Yankees. Not being facetious, but I look at the Yankees and I see an old roster with little upside and a very shaky pitching staff.

Their offense is better, but I think if our pitching comes of age, we could be better.

Like the optimism, but we don't (yet) have a super-stud player like Tex, Sabathia, or Cano. Thats a big difference.

You're right, but the balance in the lineup really helps us stay somewhat close on the offensive side.

The thing that will make the difference, though, would be balance in our rotation. That's something the Yankees won't have this season.

Paging Mr. Wieters and Mr. Jones. The growth of these two guys, along with our young pitchers, will determine how competitive the O's are this year. If they make some nice strides, it should be a fun year.

Agreed. Right now Cano, Arod, Tex and Sabathia are far superior to anyone we have. The Orioles need their top prospects from yesteryears to live up to the hype. Wieters, Jones, and Matusz can change everything.

    Thumbs up

The MFY's are better at 1B, 2B, 3B, RF, CF, #1 #3 sp #4 SP, Closer and bench. The O's have the better C, SS, LF, DH, #2 SP, #5 SP, and a deeper bulpen IMO.

I'm not so sure the Yankees are better in the rotation at #3 and #4. We shall see.
