Early reports made it sound like a done deal, but it looks like it's not (yet).

Sad, sad day, if true.
He is officially gone.
The question is, where is he going? Personally, I want him to take over for Morgan Freeman as a voice-over guy for every documentary. He's the natural heir.
He didn’t want to leave CBS; have read some people at CBS (Jim Nantz supposedly) felt he was rising to the top of the ranks of college basketball announcing too quickly and weren’t too pleased.
March madness without Gus Johnson; just doesn’t sound right. Much rather listen to Gus and Len Elmore than Nantz and Kellogg.
He'll be doing college football on FOX, and will do a little NFL too. I imagine he'll also call some basketball games on FX, which will be part of the new contract with the Pac-12.
I know the big dogs always have to protect their turf, but if Nantz really thought/said that he should go look in his scrapbooks/diaries. He became the lead NCAA play by play man after only 5 or 6 years at CBS, and that was his first time doing play by play for college basketball. He was previously a studio host. Gus Johnson has been calling NCAA games for 15 years.
Gus Johnson is going to announce the Stanford/Cal game coming up at 9pm on Comcast sports net. Just found out watching the Beavers/Ducks game.
Great to hear Gus do some basketball again; know he’s on the big ten network but don’t tune into that channel as much as the espn and fox sports net networks.
