A game we couldn't afford to lose
I'm glad we won, but I'm more relieved we didn't lose. Five losses in a row, a double blown save, and Felix on the hill tomorrow? That might have been the straw that broke the camel's back. We're kind of hanging by a thread as it is.

I agree.
This team needs to work Felix like they did Pineda today. Knock him out in 6 or earlier and get to their bullpen. Both of our bullpens are taxed. Tillman needs to come out throwing strikes as we've used the following arms already:
Gonzo
Gregg
Koji
Johnson
Accardo
That really only leaves Rapada (shudders) and Berken (shudders).

Ughh, I have zero confidence in Tillman. I think you have to just leave him out there, even if he gives up 10 runs in 5-6 IP. Tell him he's not coming out until he gives us at least 6 IP.

Oh hell that was the most exciting game of the season as far as I am concered. Yeah it would have been a heart breaker if we had lost but we didn't. I am reading all of these doom and gloom posts, not including this thread, and all I keep thinking is "Damn that was a fun game to watch." And I may be making excuses, but the blown saves were all just bad luck. Other than the the 2 run shot off Jake I thought their hits were of the weak/lucky kind. I mean that bouncer off of JJ Hardy's glove for the go ahead was a joke. The runs Gonzo, Uehara and Gregg gave up were all infield bunts, hits and bloopers. Nothing that I am too concerned over. Now the hitting with runners in scoring position was very frustrating but I don't see that happening too often, considering we were second in the AL with RISP. Give me the 20+ hits every night and I guarantee you we win most nights

Is there no long relief guy? That's kind of ironic.

Hell, just tell him it's "turn back the clock night" and he's in for the duration. Buck: "Son, we're in a pinch. I need you to go all nine tonight. Don't even think of trying to strike anybody out; that's too many pitches. Keep the ball low and give me 27 grounders."
It could happen?!?! Right?
