I'd have to disagree. Aegon has landed in Westeros with Connington and will probably ally with Dorne. The Greyjoy fleet is sailing for Daeny, providing her with the boats she seeks. The forces of the Eyrie are prepared to march on Winterfell, not to mention Stannis' army will probably be funded by the creditor from Braavos. Jon will probably be reborn as Azor Ahai (I hope!). Not to mention the ****storm that's about to happen in Kings Landing, now that Kevan Lannister and Pyrcelle are dead. As Varys told Kevan, the Tyrells will blame the Lannisters and vice versa, not to mention the Dornishmen will stick their nose in too.

Personally, I can't wait for the next book in the series!

"The ground?" said Theon. "What ground? Here? This misbegotten tower? This wretched little village? You have no high ground here, no walls to hide beyond, no natural defenses."
    "Yet."
    I freakin' love Stannis.

Wasn't that a given? I thought it was. No way George would kill him "off screen" like that. Thanks for the link, although I'm going to avoid reading that myself. If I read it, it will just make me more impatient for the next book.

Suffice it to say, I disagree as well.

My friends are always giving me crap for my love of Game of Thrones. One of them just had a birthday, so I got him a giftcard and in jest (partially) a copy of the first novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Yesterday afternoon he posted a new Facebook status... "Winter is coming."

Looks like I converted another one.

Just watched the rerun of the Christmas episode of Psych where Shawn does his own "It's a Wonderful Life" thing with Tony Cox, and I somehow missed this exchange the first time (paraphrased, I can't remember it exactly):

"Hey, why weren't you in Elf?"
"Now's not the time to talk about roles I should've got over Dinklage..."

I got my uncle started on it right before Christmas. He's already finished A Game of Thrones, and has moved on to A Clash of Kings. I asked him about GOT and what he thought about Ned dying. He said he was surprised and he said he didn't like that part b/c the bad guys were winning. I had to bite me tongue after he said that as there is many more victories for the bad guys yet to come. He also said that he hated Joffrey !

A new pic of Dany, apparently they aren't going with the traditional Qarth wardrobe of having one breast exposed.

Tank PMed me a few weeks ago, just to let me know he's a fan of the series now (and that I helped convert him). Looks like I hooked yet another one.

Tough call there as I'm not that much of a fan of Stannis (although he has grown on me a bit as the series has progressed), but knowing what happens to Renly I can't really root for him. I'll give the edge to Stannis because he's got Davos on his side and I'm a fan of the onion knight!
