Much of the show is to like. Much is sooooooo disappointing for a book reader. Argghhh.
They gotta figure out how to get out all the stuff that it's in characters heads. Would you rather they did it like Lynch's "Dune"? I didn't think so.

I'm about 60 pages into Feast for Crows. Kinda lagging thus far, IMO.

Not gonna lie to you, it doesn't really get much better. There are high points, but I meant what I said earlier about how Martin left all the reeeally interesting POV's out.

Feast is the worst of the books. It is the redheaded step child. It wasnt the book that George was going to put out. They ended up throwing all of certain characters into it and left the rest for a Dance with Dragons. Then he had huge issues with Dance with Dragons. So this is a book you just have to suffer through.

Since I've only read the first two so far, let me ask this: should I read the third one, than wait until the next one comes out and read the fourth right beforehand?

How fast do you read? You might just do that anyway if you read at a regular pace. Not to mention that it took me longer to read FfC, and my reading speed has been described as "ridiculously fast."

I meant in general, since I don't know when I'm going to read the others. Basically, should I pair Crows and Dragons together, almost as one book? Obviously I know you haven't read it yet since it isn't out yet, but based on what you know of each book should that be how I think about it?

Ooooh, well, like you said I can't know for sure, but I don't think pairing them together will make much difference unless he gets cute with intersplicing arcs.

That sounds like a decent plan.

Just finished A Clash of Kings yesterday. Business definitely picks up towards the end there. I enjoyed this book alot, but it felt like most of the "big" stuff didn't happen until the end there. And I don't even want to talk about Snow having to fight "Qhorin" man did that suck. Theon Grevyjoy moved high up on the D-bag lists as well, not sure if he got killed or not, but I'm guessing there will be more from him in Storm of Swords or at least some sort of explanation. I also really liked that guy Jaqen H'Ghar but who knows when he'll show up again. I also have my doubts about Stannis being dead.

Okay, about 150 pages in and I'm starting to enjoy the book a little more. I was a little turned off at the beginning because it was all chapters by characters that a) weren't too important and b) I could give two craps less about. Haha.

I know I'm going to miss Tyrion, Jon and Daeny's chapters though. July can't get here soon enough!

There's some interesting stuff that goes on, but it ultimately ends up feeling like a tease...which it kinda is.

Edit: Gotta love reading the spoiler free version. "Not a good episode for Ned." ROFL. Oh, just wait.

Wow, Jamie Lannister gets his hand removed. Didn't see that coming...

I wasn't too thrilled when he became a POV character, but he's far more interesting than I thought he would be.

That's exactly what I thought. He always seemed to be the less interesting of him and Cersei, and by the end of FfC I realized that opinion had reversed completely.

The only thing that got me through FfC pretty easily was Arya. I really like her arc, she's a little savage. :-)
