So I'm onto Storm of Swords now and did a double take when I saw how big this one was. Enjoying it so far. Just read Sam's first chapter last night and really enjoyed that one. And then I had to laugh out loud when Tywin suggested that Tyrion should marry Sansa! I'm not sure if that's going to happen or not, but that would certainly muck things up a bit. It will also be interesting to see who Cersei winds up marrying.

Any chance Gregor and/or Sandor Clegane are still alive? Well, maybe not "alive," but merely half-dead instead?

BTW, I read Cersei's chapter last night where she had a dream about the "fortune teller" she visited as a child. Two things stood out to me.
1. The woman mentined her children wearing golden crowns and golden shrouds, IIRC. Does that mean Myrcella and Tommen will die as well?
2. Also, she mentioned what sounded like a Bravoosi strangling the Queen to death someday. Could that be Arya?

I like Tommen. I would hope he makes it. However since the whole kingdom is hearing about his incest beginnings it doesnt bode well for his long term survival. It all rest with the Tyrells. If they think Tommen is worth keeping around they will. However the new High Priest knows the truth about the incest and Cersei's cousin love with Lancel.
About Arya. Who knows. I think she is coming back sometime soon with loads of revenge on her mind.
I think both Cleganes are still living. One as a monk and another as a frankenstein creation.

BTW, the first review about A Dance With Dragons is out. Here's some tidbits...
Similar to Feast of Crows vs. the nonstop action of Storm of Swords...but a great novel
Several characters are revived and return from "The dead". They did not go into depth on who but said a few were unexpected.
Several peace treaties are signed and there is true closure to several plot lines
The ending is the best thing to happen in the series yet and sets up what will likely be insanity in The winds of winter. They gushed over the ending which is action packed.
There are character deaths but there are more revivals, as stated above, than deaths.
Most of Dany's time is spent in Mereen.
Jon is betrayed from within the nights watch.
We get some answers on Jon's parentage.
Barristan Selmy is a POV
Tyrion is kidnapped by slavers and is yet again in a bad situation and enslaved/jailed. LOL.
No "score" but overall a solid review.

BTW, how do you guys feel about Tyrion's role in the battle being, err... significantly reduced from the novel?

I'm about half way threw A Storm of Swords and I think I'm liking it more than A Clash of Kings. There seems to be alot more happening and a lot of big moments. The Dany chapter was insane, it was funny as I was reading about her buying the eunich army and the way it was being spelled out I was thinking why doesn't she just use this army to get Drogon and her stuff back and sure enough a couple pages later!

I was irritated but have come to accept that they just are not capable of putting a decent CGI or real battle scene. There will be no brilliant shots like the first ten minutes of Gladiator, or Brave Heart. Which sucks because of the amazing battle at Kings Landing with the fire and all hell braking out.
Tyrion should of been shown fighting a bit before being knocked out.
I am hoping they have a bigger budget for season two.
