He's probably a little too young for the role, but does anyone else think Simon Pegg (of Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz fame) would be perfect for the role of Ser Davos?

I loved the Walder Frey actor. He rocked it. It was just creepy.

Yeah, getting Argus Filch was kinda inspired.

Arya is not dead as far as I know.

Robb and Catelyn have other fates. Both are different.

Arya is still alive and kicking. Robb not so much. F'n Freys!

Catelyn... well, I'll let you keep reading.

So, my fiancee allowed me to tell her two spoilers, if only because it was two things she was REALLY curious about?

    1. Does Joffrey die? Haha.
    2. Does Jaime (when I mentioned there was a character you start to like later on, she guessed it was him) have a falling out with his sister?

Suffice to say, she was pleased that I answered "Yes" to both.

Well I just finished Storm of Swords! The poo was really hitting the fan by the end there. I'm kind've surprised how cynical/ruthless Tyrion has become, but I guess that was bound to happen. I definitely didn't expect Tywin to eat it either. A couple of huge reveals as well first finding out that Joff (he's gone!) was the one who put the hit out on Bran, but the second one and even bigger IMO was that Lysa killed her own husband! The ramifications of that were huge, and once we got that I didn't mind seeing her get pushed out the window (for a minute I thought Sansa was going to fly)seeing as how she was a complete whack job. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of the Hound either, I was really into the chapters with him and Arrya. And now we've got zombie Catelyn and Lord Commander Snow as well. I have my doubts though about Stannis being the "prince" that the priestess is talking about. I mean he's not really the rightful heir to the throne, it's Danny.
Probably my favorite book of the first 3. I have a Feast of Crows, but I think I'm waiting a few days before starting it so I can digest A Storm of Swords first.

Agreed on all counts. From the Red Wedding to Joffrey's demise to Lysa's reveal to Zombie Catelyn's emergence, it's almost hard to put down the book during the last 400+ pages of A Storm of Swords.

A Feast of Crows is kind off a letdown (considering they're holding off on the Jon/Daeny/Tyrion chapters for A Feast of Crows) after the events of the third book, but it's good in it's own right. A Dance with Dragons can't get here soon enough!

I think Asha Greyjoy is getting more PoV in ADWD, which is awesome. She is becoming one of my faves.

Heard a crazy rumor that Gerard Butler is in talks to be Stannis Baratheon. Probably a bunch of b.s., but that'd be awesome.

And speaking of Stannis, does anyone else "like" him? I mean, he's a gruff asshat for sure, but I can't help but find him a little endearing too.

I saw that somewhere as well. IMDB maybe. Kinda makes sense to me. Kinda funny how his wife from 300 is Cersei and now he might be Stannis.
As far as his character goes though I'm not a big fan of his, but I am a fan of Davos.

Haha. My sister said that Gerard Butler can't be Stannis because then he'd be hotter than his younger brother.

Yeah, I really like Ser Davos too. I think a lot of people would like to see Robert Carlyle (of The Full Monty fame, 51st state, etc.) portray him. Not that that means anything, but fan response did help Peter Dinklage get the role of Tyrion Lannister, IIRC.

IMDB gets a lot of stuff wrong.

I read that Brienne is cast, not sure who will be Stannis (Butler would probably be great in that role!)

This link has the list of who gets POV chapters in A Dance with Dragons. I'm guessing the unlisted one is Ser Jorah Mormont.
