I have a feeling Renly's death is going to be epic this season.

And as for Slynt, I already can't wait for Jon Snow to chop off his head. Haha.

Multiple curveballs. They killed Rakharo, made Bronn the head of the City Watch, changed Asha's name to Yara, had Melisandre and Stannis consummate their "relationship" and had Jon discover what Craster was doing with his boys, who in turn knocked Jon out to end the episode.
I like it!

I'm pretty annoyed with them for killing Rakharo. I know they did it in part b/c the actor had scheduling conflicts, but I think they should have found a way around it without killing off a dude that's been around for 5 books. Plenty of characters get killed in this series so it's not like they don't have plenty of people to off. In the grand scheme of things I guess it won't matter that much, but I'm still annoyed by it.
Putting Bronn in charge of the city watch makes sense as it would've taken too much time to introduce someone like Jacely Bywater so this was a quick and easy way to get around that and still allows us to see Slynt sent off to the wall.
They always hinted at something going on between Stannis and Mel and those shadow babies had to come from somewhere so I pretty much expected them to show those two getting it on, not much of a change there.
I'm not sure why thy needed to have Jon discover what Craster was up to.

Meh on Rakharo. Sure, he was around in the books, but nothing he did was significant enough.
Agreed on Bronn it's also in character for Tyrion, who's major flaw is trusting people whose company he earned with his gold.
That's how I read the Stannis/Melindre thing. I always figured they coupled in the books.
That's classic "show don't tell." my beef was how d-baggy Jon was to Sam. I know he just got reamed out by Mormont, but he was usually way more diplomatic with Sam.
This was the first epi my wife saw. She laughed hard at Arya and Gendry, and at Theon finding out about his sister. She also said "I hate that guy" about Theon. I told her you're supposed to hate him.

I kinda like how Asha (sorry, Yari) isn't as attractive as she's made out to be in the books. At least, my the standards of the Iron Men.
A rougher look suits her, IMO.
