Just finished watching the first season on demand and I've already read up to the part when Ned has to kill Lady in the first book. I downloaded the first two books on my kindle two years ago but never got around to reading them. Started watching the show earlier this week and it kind of forced my hand. Wish I would've read the book first but oh well. Also wish I didn't see some minor and possible spoilers for the series in this thread but thats what I get for reading it, doesn't disparage me though.

If only I could put my life on hold while I get caught up to date... Love it.

I'm 28 percent done (thanks kindle fire) Storm of Swords. Super pumped for the new season, I'm trying like heck to get through the first four books before it starts. Don't wanna rush through though.

I wanna rewatch season 1 soon since I initially watched it before reading the book.

I am 230 pages into A Feast for Crows. Kind of slow so far, similar to A Clash of Kings. A Storm of Swords is definitely my favorite so far. A lot of plot and character development and action. So far in A Feast of Crows there is just a lot of reaction to what happened in the previous book, and there is a focus on only a few characters. A Clash of Kings was pretty much like that until the last 200 pages.

I watched Game of Thrones season one before reading any of the books. I pre-ordered the first season on Blu Ray. After reading three of the books, I am definitely going to re-watch season one before season two starts on April 1. I think I missed my first time through season one, and I think I would be able to enjoy it more after reading the books. I am pretty excited for March 6 (same day as Mass Effect 3's release BTW ).
