Here is my question on Dylan Bundy, since he is on the 40 man roster next year can he be immediately traded?
I would really like to see us start taking it slow with prospects. Why not give Bundy a chance to dominate each level? If he really should be facing harder competition, it will be completely obvious after 100 IP.
I'm thinking he'll take the Josh Beckett route. Dominate for a year and a half in the minors and make a good amount of starts in the bigs by 2013.
If his contract status changes the way we develop him, then it was a mistake to give him that contract. And "that kind of money" - huh? Plenty of top prospects take years to develop. Most of them, in fact. And the exceptions often look pretty rushed (Porcello, etc.).
That's like saying "I didn't pay 200 grand for this sports car to have to give it an oil change every 5000 miles". It's the other way around. If something is valuable to you, treat it with care.
Interesting tidbit from Klaw on Twitter:
When asked if he thought Bundy would be eligible:If Dylan Bundy is arb-eligible in 2015 or 2016, he can't opt out. That seems like a pretty big win for Baltimore & loss for the player.
Guess that means the O's don't have to worry about super 2 status with him.I do. And if arb gets moved up to 2 years instead of 3, it's even worse. RT @BrettAnderson49: @keithlaw gut feeling... you think he will be?
