Does the fact that Dunn is interviewing for LSU concern any of you about our ability to develop young arms?

Per Brett Hollander on Twitter:
Geez, poppa Bundy has him coached up for these negotiations. My goodness.#Orioles pick D Bundy - "College is an option" He came across poised and already versed in these negotiations.

Glad to see the Os select an elite talent like DBundy.
This is easily the most highly regarded pitching prospect taken by the Os since McDonald/Mussina.
I can not recall a HS pitcher with taken by the Os with this sort of resume.
I thought it would be very difficult for JJ to pass on Bundy ....
Lots of smokescreen from our FO - have to take the quality bats when available, have to check on ABradley after seeing these outrageous bonus demands (I mean, if the demands are too high for the Os, then they must be pretty high for Seattle and Zona to consider, right?).

I like the pick (but what do I know) except for this. I'd be very happy and more than a little pleasantly surprised if they get him for $6-7m and DO NOT have to sign him to a ML deal. Ultimately, the O's have a good amount of leverage considering the anticipated changes to the June draft. BBI is probably semi-bluffing, but they don't look likely to blink and it already looks like they're prepared to bring out every negotiation ploy in the book. We already know MacPhail won't blink. The improvements to the June draft structure are overdue. These negotiations are going to make me sick to the stomach.
I'd much rather see him get an unreasonably high salary than see him get a ML deal. I don't care how much of a quick riser he's supposed to be, locking any HS pitcher (or any HS player for that matter) into a ML deal puts a false perception of a need to maximize the likelihood that a player will reach his early earning potential ahead of baseball. The kid's going to get paid; don't go from "he could rise quickly through the system" to "he has to be in the majors in a little over three years." We just don't have any idea whether the availability of more time will help him. See Adam Loewen.

Interesting tidbit: ABradley and Bundy are like best friends, as are the families. They are going to be sharing information in negotiations with each other.

No worries re signing. No one negotiates better than AM. Man has ice water in his veins. How many times has this board panicked only to have AM vindicate himself.

Just to show his character - he lead the effort for his HS to give the folks in Joplin, MO personal items after that devastating tornado:

You really have to love the mindset and attitude of this guy.
I am definitely happy we drafted him.
Now, let's hope he develops and stays healthy.

I have little doubts he will sign a pro contract but I don't expect it to get done until the last moment just like with Machado and Wieters. The kid has been waiting all his life for this and he's not going to improve much more than then the 4th overall pick if he goes to college. If he's as good and polished as advertised, he could be in the majors by the time he would be eligible to be drafted again.
