Gotta give credit where it's due. The O's continue a trend of strong, leak-proof negotiations. That's a positive for any organization.
And we got everybody! How great is that!

Imagine if we had gotten Purke when we had a chance. Nats got Purke, Meyer, and Rendon. Wow.
Sill love Bundy better than any of the above though.

I'm always going to regret not taking Starling...but Bundy is a nice consolation prize.

So it looks like Bundy took less money to get the ML deal which was a good move by the Orioles.
It looks like Danny Hultzen got the most money with a 8.5-10.6 million deal from the M's.

Forgive my stupidity, so he gets the $4 million upfront and the remaining $2.225 million is spread out over 5 years? Math was not my best subject. Sorry.

Not necessarily, the bonus can be spread any way the contract is structured. Also he will get more than $2.225 million if he is in the majors for any of that time. He is guaranteed 2.225 in that if he doesn't make the majors, that is all he gets. His contract likely also includes a salary higher than the ML minimum once he reaches the majors. Matusz's contract for example dictated that he receive $0.425M if in the majors in '09, $0.5M in '10, $0.55M in '11, and $0.65M in '12.

I am sure there is more to come on the Bundy contract, but the initial numbers appear to be quite strong in favor of the Os - relative to what other pitchers and hitters in the top five to seven received and also relative to what HS prospects like Taillon received.

Man I wish it were June 16th and not August 16th.
Will Bundy will start his pro career at Delmarva?

Just to get it right, a major league contract starting 2012 means that Bundy has to be on the 25 men roster by the end of 2015, correct?
