Showalter's indication on this year's draft stragey?

"I'll leave you with a draft-related question that Showalter has posed to reporters.
If you knew that you could select a player in the first round who would have a major impact, someone who would be in your rotation or lineup for years to come and make a bunch of All-Star teams, would you forfeit the other 49 picks that year?"
The way I understand this is we have drafted Bundy, so no money for anything else spectacular. I guess this is then also the reason why we drafted so many "cheap" BP arms.
If we sign Bundy this is going to be great for our system but I feel that we should be able to spend a little more in the later rounds as well, especially since finding those gems in later rounds is one of Jordan's specialties.

If some of those bullpen arms can reach the majors and have success then I do not see the problem. By loading up on bullpen arms in our minors we no longer have to sign relievers to multi million dollar contracts and have to give up draft picks. I like Jordan's strategy in the draft this year with restocking our minors with college arms as the past couple years we have had a major gap in pitching talent in our minors. Now it will be interesting to see if we can sign Delmonico and/or Hockaday as they will give us two potential bats.

Maybe this is a new direction for the organization to go get Kids that can give you two or three innings and grow the bullpen arms. Free agency hasn't been the answer.
