Whats he supposed to do.... tackle the baserunner?

No one said he had to do anything. It's his "not going anywhere for awhile" Snickers-eating stance that kinda sums how I feel about watching the Os get shelled night after night. Like, jeez here we go again.

Wonder if Reynolds "misses" the Astros now. It's hard to be on a losing team. I can't imagine players who have been here for a while -- Markakis, Roberts, Guthrie etc. It's gotta wear down on you. I feel for them. Changes have to be made throughout the organization to clean this mess up.

    • Do the Orioles platoon Urias and Mateo (Urias is historically better against RHP) at 2B and leave Westburg at 3B?   This seems most likely to me.   In this case, you’d assume Holliday is replaced by a reserve infielder.   We lost Diego Castillo and Livan Soto on waivers and Nick Matón is currently on the IL at Norfolk.   Norby?  Errol Robinson?   Neither is on the 40 man. Do the Orioles move Westburg to 2B and risk 3B to another rookie adjustment and questionable defense by calling up Mayo?   This seems less likely but certainly an option. Any other possibilities?
    • Povich always has been a high strikeout guy despite solid but not outstanding velocity.  Yesterday his FB averaged 92 and topped out at 94.   https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?date=2024-04-19&chartType=pitch&legendType=pitchName&playerType=pitcher&inning=&count=&pitchHand=&batSide=&descFilter=&ptFilter=&resultFilter=&hf=playerBreakdown&sportId=11
    • I didn’t watch it. Just saw the listing in the guide and turned it on for like 10 seconds.
    • I wasn't one of them. All my coworkers said Jackson needed to be brought up here from Spring training. I was the only guy who said he wasn't ready. I'd like to think I know a bit about the game. The first game I saw in person, Jim Gentile was our first baseman. I'm old.  Obviously, Holliday is a work in progress. But he looks a bit lost in the field and at the plate. Sending him down while maybe hurting his ego, hopefully will help get him back on track. You simply can't keep playing him here when he's failing every day. I mean think about it. You or I could get up to bat and probably get a hit or two from sheer luck. That isn't what you want from a guy penciled in as your next superstar. I guarantee with more time at AAA perfecting his craft you'll see a different version of him when he gets a call up later this year
