This is a head scratcher for me unless the staff was convinced that they were going to cut Jarmon. He's more suited for a 3-4. I wish he worked out because I thought that was one of the better moves that Vinny made in his time here. I'm having trouble believing that more than one of Gaffney, Stokely, and Stallworth make the final 53.

Don't blame him. He saw the writing on the wall. 4 or 5 of those guys are going to get cut, and he was primed to be one of them. He wasn't going to play ahead of Moss or AA, and he's competing with Gaffney, Hankerson, Paul, and Austin for #3 (I feel like I'm missing someone).

I thought the same thing, we saw glimpses of Thomas at the end of 08 I think where he was really good. It looks like with the mid-level signings they are going to give him a shot though, if they went with one of the higher level guys, I think he'd be relegated to what Austin was last year.

With the short camp, Hankerson doesn't really have time to learn the offense effectively. So, I think they brought in all the guys they did to have bodies to trot out there while Hankerson can learn the offense. Gaffney has already run the offense before, so he'll be familiar with it even with a shortened training camp. I think Hankerson will get his chance.
