I'm just a little worried about WWE's current product. The guys who everyone wants to see at Mania will be Rock, Jericho, and Taker..3 guys that are not going to be long term, every week wrestlers. It might make for an exciting buildup to Mania, but afterwards, it's back to a handful of interesting wrestlers and a lot of average guys. It's just a little disheartening.

Cody Rhodes could be giving serious cred to the IC title if he were actually given some matches to defend it. If they would book things properly, both he and Dolph would have those belts mattering again, although I think they've done a much better job with Dolph than with Cody. I'm a huge fan of both of them. Dolph is seriously a funny, witty guy, who I think will eventually take off when he makes a face turn. I see it kinda like the Rock: as a heel, he was a cocky, arrogant ***** that everyone hated. Once he turned face, he was still cocky and arrogant, but suddenly he was cocky and arrogant towards the heels and it was hilarious and completely eaten up by the crowd. Dolph might not go over as well as Rock, but I think he's got big things in his future.
Funny you mention this. I don't routinely watch Smackdown, though I DVR it every week. I watched the live one last night, and I seriously had no clue who half the guys in the Battle Royal were. On top of that, two of the best promos from RAW were Piper and Foley, two "special guests" that aren't even regulars, much less wrestlers. Its really at a point where I could care less about 75% of both rosters.

as for Nash/Trips, that program is still on. Trips is out with a "broken neck" and Nash was just on last week with a promo. He can't come out every week and say the same thing. Trips will be back probably after this month's PPV to start the promotion for a match at the Rumble, or, they might even drag this thing out all the way to Mania and get HBK involved in some fashion.

But again, its the older guys who are the most entertaining, which is a major problem.

Well Piper was used an antagonist for Cena, which worked well.

Foley had to redeem himself for the disaster of This Is Your Life, and he even made mention of that himself.

Regarding HHH/Nash, it just seems odd. They shoved it down our throats and then they seem to just drop it.

I agree about the SD Rumble, I didn't know half the talent. They underutilize so much talent.

I read something about how fans weren't happy with SD simply because Cena, Punk, and Ryder are the top 3 draws right now and none of them were on SD.

    Jericho update:

    Chris Jericho Upset With WWE
Several people within WWE indicate that the cryptic videos that have been airing are for Chris Jericho's return in January. Accroding to F4Wonline.com, some believe that they're meant for Jericho but if something falls through with his deal, they can be used for The Undertaker's return.

It has been confirmed that Jericho and WWE had a recent falling out over him not being included in the WWE '12 video game. One WWE source made the point that Jericho may have missed out on five-figure royalties from not being in the video game but he wouldn't let that cause him to miss out on a big WrestleMania payday.

Are you kidding me? Upset because you aren't in a video game. Boo hoo.

Apparantly the wrestlers earn royalty money for being in the game. So he's losing money, while guys like Batista, Lesnar, Austin, Rock, Kharma, even Randy Savage for God's sake, are in the game. So yeah, I'd be pissed too if I was a major player in the WWE during the 2000's.

But my point is its 5 figures, this isn't a huge pay day, he would make more for singing in his pretend band for a night. These games come out every year and some veterans are in there. It would lose the appeal if every superstar was in every game.

Were you all to venture a best guess RIGHT NOW, what would the card at WM look like? Also as an addendum to that card, what would YOUR card look like if you were running the show?

    Best guess at actual card:

    Cena vs Rock
    WWE Title: Punk vs Jericho
Streak Match: Taker vs Triple H
World Heavyweight Title: Sheamus vs Orton
IC Title: Cody Rhodes vs Golddust
    US Title: Rhyder vs R-Truth
Kane vs Henry vs Big Show
    Miz vs some celebrity
    Woman's match of some sort.

I would love to see Punk vs Austin, but with Cena vs Rock this year, and Punk your top face right now, I think they'll let this one main event Mania 29. Count on that, sucka!

    My Card:

    Cena vs Rock
    WWE Title: Punk vs Jericho
WHC: Mark Henry vs Sheamus (Rumble winner)
Streak Match: UnderTaker vs Brock Lesner
Grudge Match: One Last Match: Christian vs Edge
IC Title: Cody Rhodes vs Big Show
US Title: Dolph Zigglar vs Jack Swagger
Raw vs Smackdown: Orton vs Miz
Triple H vs Kevin Nash: HBK Special Ref

For me, its kinda hard to make MY Mania because I'm not really a huge fan of any of the current guys, so this isn't exactly any better than the real deal. If I had a no holds barred, anything goes fantasy Mania, it would be...

    Cena vs Rock
    Punk vs Austin
    Undertaker vs Kurt Angle
    HBK vs Jericho
    Triple H vs Sheamus
    Edge vs Christian
    Beth Phoenix vs Trish Stratus
War Games Match: Orton, Masked Kane, Big Show, Sheamus, and Rhyder vs Miz, Del Rio, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, and Dolph Zigler.

Now THAT would entice me to buy WrestleMania.

    Love this idea.

We should reference back to it as WM approaches. The two matches that are known are Rock v. Cena and World Champion vs. Daniel Bryan.

Kane has got to feud with Henry when he gets back so I think someone else is the World Heavyweight champ. I think it will be Randy Orton (I guess), if he wins it at the elimination chamber. You also have to figure out the Rumble Winner. I will have to put some thought into this.

I'm predicting Wade Barrett wins the Rumble at this point.

I think there is a very good chance that he will be Taker's WM opponent.

There was talk that he was going to be the guy last year and Taker can blame him for "burying" him against Kane(when Nexus interfered).

That's a good call. I wish they would use Taker's streak to really put someone over, but I doubt it happens. How big for someone's career could that be though? Epic match at WM with Taker, ending his perfect record? I love Taker, but I think it would be better for business to put someone over.

Well if you believe what was said, Kurt Angle says Taker wanted to lose to him at Mania, but the WWE brass wouldn't go for it. The time has come and gone to put someone over, and there are very few guys out there that you can see beating Taker and being shot into the stratosphere. CM Punk? They fought a few years ago and it still took Punk a few years to get to where he is. Del Rio? Boring. Maybe Cody Rhodes, but he's still a work in progress from a creative standpoint, so not yet. There just aren't many guys out there that you can point to and see that wow factor right under the surface that would justify beating Taker. Plus, the last three years have given us epic streak matches, so it would have to be someone that can live up to that, and again, there don't seem to be a lot of young guys that are at that point yet. I'm of the belief that if Taker loses, it has to be to somebody big, because the current crop just isn't where it needs to be to justify him losing, unless he really believes there is somebody there.

They don't have to win to put them over.

I mean, let's face it..this is made up. They can put anyone over anytime they want and in any situation.

If Barrett beat Taker but never became a 5-10 time champion, would anyone care he beat him?

And on the flip side, does losing to him hurt HHH or Michaels?
