RG3 will go #2 IMO.
So, who trades with St Louis? It likely needs to be Cle, Washington or Miami.
I would like to see Cleveland miss out on getting RG3 and, especially, Luck this draft.
I know the PV chart is a little outdated but basically, the Skins have to make up about 1000 points to move up to the second pick.
I would guess 2 #1s and their second rounder this year would do the trick.
Are you comfortable trading, AT LEAST that to get RG3.
Clev offers a higher first round pick this year and another first round for this year. Plus, they have an extra 4th round pick this season. That may be too much to pass up.
So, if you are the Skins, are you willing to beat that?

I see Flynn being another Matt Cassel. Someone who can have a solid career outside of GB, but never really living up to the hype. GB is such a well-oiled machine right now. Going to Washington or Miami is going to be a big change. Those offense can't come close to equaling the weapons that GB has.
And were Skins fans clamoring for Flynn before this last game? I know he broke records and all that but let's not get ahead of ourselves. It was one game, at home, against a mediocre defense that usually plays in a dome. And remember, Frank Reich was the QB of the biggest NFL comeback. Just because Flynn went off for one game doesn't mean he's gonna be the answer where ever he goes.
He certainly deserves the shot though and I wouldn't say getting him would be a bad move for Washington. I'd just be temper my expectations a bit.Last edited by NewMarketSean; 01-03-2012 at 03:36 PM.

I highly doubt they franchise him, A: They would need to have the Cap space to give him 15 mil or so for a short period of time and B: They will probably lock up Finely for a year.

I can appreciate the general point here, but some Skins fans did mention Flynn as one of the backup QBs that would be available as an FA this off-season before Sunday's game. Flynn also put up a pretty good game against the Pats, I think, last year.
He is a future QB option and with the end of the season occurring, there will be clamor about the best options, which I think everyone would at least agree on the top three being Luck, RGIII, and Flynn in no particular order due to the different cost for each.
Whether he is another Cassell/Kolb or not remains to be seen. My "clamoring" is because the season has ended. The draft slots are finally set, and we now can pretty fairly project the cost of acquiring these three options.
Honestly, I don't understand why you would post "And were Skins fans clamoring for Flynn before this last game?..." I'm not sure if there is an undertone there or not.
I didn't see anyone set any clear expectations that would need to be tempered.

I ask because I never heard any Skins fans talking about Flynn, whether it was here or on DC sports talk, until now. Maybe I missed it but I listen to a lot of DC sports talk (for lack of Bmore sports talk where I live) and they have never brought up Flynn all season when mentioning QB's.
There's no denying that he's played well in his limited time, but I think there is a possibility that he is a system QB like Cassel was. He still is, undoubtedly, the best QB option for the Skins this offseason.

Here is only part, due to subscriber requirements, of an ESPN Insider writeup that explains Flynn's situation:
Another factor in the Packers' decision-making process on whether to tag Flynn is that they might need the tag for someone else: specifically, pass-catcher Jermichael Finley. Finley is designated as a tight end on the roster, though reports have indicated that his representation will argue that his role is more along the lines of a wide receiver. The Packers have been negotiating a new contract with the Finley camp, according to Andrew Brandt of National Football Post, using the tag figure as leverage. If they reach a deal with Finley before the tag deadline in February, they'll have the option of using the designation on Flynn. If not, they may need to use it on Finley in order to prevent him from signing elsewhere.
There is another way for the Pack to work out a trade involving Flynn. Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel explains that the team could find a trade partner, work out a new deal that is acceptable to Flynn and this new team, sign Flynn to the deal and then trade him to the new team. An agent source told Silverstein that given the market for QBs around the league, the Pack may be able to fetch at least a first-round pick in this way.
Expect to hear quite a bit more on this story as both the franchise tag deadline and the start of free agency approach.

A 4th option may actually be Peyton Manning. With the Polian's being fired, who knows what Jim Irsay's intentions are. $28 million is a lot of money.

Flynn has a ridiculous game for a ridiculously loaded team and all of a sudden he's a viable option for us. I don't get it.

There was nothing "sudden" about this. Flynn was discussed as an option before his big game. After his big game, some of us are now saying he is our best option since he will cost less (and other reasons).

Yeah signing Flynn means you add three starters this offseason for sure, QB, and whoever you take in the first and second. If you have to trade your first and second this year to move up, you are only adding 1 starter (QB).
Seeing that we need to replace Landry (assuming we won't resign him), fix the OL who couldn't stay healthy, decide if Riley is a starter at MLB or if we need a new starter, upgrade at nickel back, and fix the WR issue (I think we have the pieces already, just need to play the right ones), I think multiple starters this offseason could win us the division, provided we upgrade the QB position to a division winning QB.
