On the flip side, why would another team give up a lot for Bradford with that contract. I can't recall the exact details of his deal, but I recall that more of his contract became guaranteed due to percentage of snaps he played over the past two years.
There is some pressure on StL to get things right this draft. They could draft Griffin and then trade either QB after the draft, depending on what the better deal is. But then you face the possibility that you don't get what you want and up with 2 qbs and a bunch of holes.

QBs are in such high demand that I think they would be able to get good value for Bradford. I don't know if the Browns would give up both of their 1sts for him but I could see them giving up the #4 pick. Let me ask the Skins fans a question. Would you take Bradford for the #6 pick straight up??

I think that's a good question. If reports can be believed, Shanahan really liked Bradford a lot out of OU. If they could work their cap magic to make his contract doable, then yes, I wouldn't be opposed to giving up a 1st to acquire their long term solution at QB. That's going off the assumption that they are not that high on Flynn. If the view Bradford and Flynn relatively close, I'd rather have the #6 for Blackmon or Claiborne or trade back.

I'd have to really think about it. Is Sam Bradford better than he played over the last two years? Scouting reports and insider knowledge of the situation in STL would be critical to making the right decision.
I would prefer to sign an FA QB (1.Manning 2.Flynn) and keeping draft picks, but if this is our only shot at a QB... We have to strongly consider it.

Can you imagine? How awesome would it be to pick the brain of a top NFL coach, ex-coach or assistant coach? What an awesome opportunity.
And then, if you had such an opportunity, would you then make a complete boob of yourself and share all "secret" information and embarrass the exec who shared?
Why are so many front office executives like Andy MacPhail and speak and say nothing - it's because of morons like the guy hogshaven.
I can't decide which would be worse - the possibility the guy made up all or part of the conversation or if the conversation took place and the guy couldn't keep his yap shut?

The gist of this article warns that trading a collection of picks for RGIII is a huge risk compared to taking him at #4 or #6.
I still pray that the Skins do NOT trade up for RGIII.

It would be even more foolish considering the price it would cost to jump ahead of Cleveland who is going to offer their second 1st round pick. I like RG3 but he's far from a sure thing. Still raw and I also am not a huge fan of smaller QBs. He is listed as 6'2 which isn't too bad but I'm curious if he really isn't closer to 6'0 when measured at the combine.
Edit: Apparently he measured 6'2 today at the combine.Last edited by ccbird; 02-24-2012 at 06:01 PM.

RG3 just ran a 4.38 unofficial 40! Pair that with his great decision making and accuracy, he is going to be a franchise guy. Trade up Skins, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee! You won't get anywhere with stop gap and project QBs(90% of the time.) We need a franchise guy to become relavent and I know its going to cost a lot to get him but you have to take a chance on a guy like him.
But if I'm a betting man, he'll be a Brown and the Skins will settle with Tannenhill, Weeden, or even, I'm trying to type this without puking, Kyle Orton.
Also, a WR to target in this draft, who is my favorite non top tier WR, is Joe Adams out of ARK. He will be a YAC stud.Last edited by Floater; 02-26-2012 at 12:36 PM.

It will be real hard for the Skins to match any offer from Cleveland IMHO. I don't think it is worth trading several of this years picks and next years first for a guy like Griffin. It's too many eggs in one basket. Cleveland can capitalize on last years draft and trade 2 first rounders to move up 2 slots. It fits for them and not for us. I don't know what the answer is, but I think Shanahan will find one. I'd almost rather trade down to grab Tannenhill, acquire some more picks, use them to build more depth, sign Kyle Orton and go into the pre-season with some competition at QB, and let Tannenhill learn from the sidelines.
If we can acquire Peyton, that changes us to going for a Super Bowl win NOW! I think he stays in Indy for one more year though.

One reason why the Skins are more likely to trade a lot of picks for the 2nd pick than the Browns would is the fact the Skins can replace the lost draft picks through FA. The Browns have to build through the draft more because FA's are less likely to sign in Cleveland. I really am starting to think the Browns are gonna be set on building up depth and weapons for McCoy in this draft while maybe grabbing a QB looking for another shot to start in FA like Campbell. I know they are just 2 picks from the 2nd pick but I don't think their 2 first round picks well be enough to get the 2nd pick. It sounds crazy, but it is because there will be a crazy bidding war for the 2nd pick. I read one tweet saying the Skins are willing to give up their 1st, 2nd, 3rd and next years 1st. Now that would be an offer that I guarantee you the Browns will not beat. It may not be a smart deal for teh Skins but it might take that kind of ammo to get RG3, especially by the time April rolls around.
