Unhappy Not sure if I can endure another OH offseason!!

I don't know about you guys, but I am clinging to these remaining games with dear life. The OH is not always a fun place to be during the offseason. Endless bickering and extreme, umm..., out-of-the-box team-building strategies seem to be the order of the season. This is the time when we become like wild animals hibernating during the arctic winter: huddled up to stay warm and to help one another survive. I won't stop posting here over the offseason, but I'm not looking forward to the next six months of baseball solitude.

    I love the offseason.

Unfortunately, with how awful the team is, I tend to like the discussions in the offseason better than in season..except around the trade deadline.

As someone who has watched just about every game since I was 6, I get more excited during the off season than I do during the regular season. The off season is why I found this place and really look forward to it. Sometimes you get good and bad inside info and people breaking down every letter of every word of the info. Watching some posters heads spin is exciting.

The way I see it, we know what the nuggets are now. We have a good idea about our young starters. I'm thinking there will be big spending this year. Washington Nationals type of spending. And its the only way to get them to come here.

This is going to be a boring offseason. MacPhail usually made some decent trades to discuss and controversial FA signings to tear apart. Whoever the new GM is (Buck, Hart, etc...) probably isn't gonna do much their first year in the position.

That, and I think the realization has kicked in that it really doesn't matter what happens while Angelos is the owner.

I'm withyou. Of course I'll miss the games but the offseason is the best around here. Every day there's some rumor or deal to talk about. Plus it's usually the only time we make any deals (good or bad...)

Does get old into January. You just want to see some baseball.

It's fun for about a month, and then I'm desparate to see some baseball again.

Don't get too invested with those posters certain posters. I started a thread praising a guy I liked on the team and got caught up in an elementary school squabble. Some ideas are cool and when some shots are called like O's should target Josh Bell and then it happens, well that is cool. I just think if you get too emotionally invested that is when it stops being fun. Lucky for me I only get really emotional over football but everyone has that certain poster that they should just stay away from due to increased blood pressure.

Bingo. Playoffs are boring because teams can't do much, then there's a month of action and the winter meetings, but the six weeks between the new year and pitchers and catchers is painstaking.

Considering the potential for front office drama, this will probably be one of the most "exciting" offseasons in a while.

Part of me kinda wants to see MacPhail come back just to see the OH explode.

This offseason will be exciting. The future of the Orioles depends on it.

I agree. With signing Pujols, Fielder, Darvish, and Buerhle, and trading for Lincecom and Haren, this will be the busiest offseason ever for the O's!

Even then, we'll only be a 76-78 win team on paper!!

I really only hate, like, the first month or so.

You know, when one or two teams make a move, and then there are 15 threads a day about "WHEN WILL THE ORIOLES MAKE A MOVE HOW CAN THEY JUST SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING AIIIEEEEEEEE". Once things start picking up, I think it can be entertaining.
