What do you think about the Redskins making a strong push for Carson Palmer? I say this for several reasons. The Bengals clearly are building something better than they have had in the recent past, why not get another young player to help the team? Can you imagine the Redskins with a quality QB? Granted our WR corps isn't terribly well established, but I think Santana Moss and the young talent, coupled with this running game, would make us an instant contender...
(The only kicker is how quick Palmer could pick up the offense... IDK)
Absolutely ZERO chance Carson gets traded. Brown (CIN owner) is the STAUNCHEST opponent of players holding out or trying to leverage owners and not honoring contacts. He will hold on to him until he gets old enough for social security just to make a point. Ochocinco got his way and got traded out because he honored his contract and played last year out without "demanding" a trade.
Brown's a dillhole, so this won't happen. If there was a snowball's chance, the pursuit already would have been made.
Sadly, I think you both are right. I wish Brown would see the benefit in at least listening to trade offers for a commodity that has value and he owns.
Carson isn't really all that good so no thanks even if he was available.
I would agree with that. Some is simply not living up to the original uber-hype, some is injuries, some is the lack of a comprehensive contending cast. This offseason he was worth a tire kick if not for Brown's intractability. The current QB situation isn't ideal, but that's what the Redskins have to work with. If they finish with a winning record, Palmer likely won't be brought up again.
I think he's overrated, but I think he's better than Beck or Grossman. IF we had gotten him before the lockout and he could have studied over the break I might have been interested.
I am sorry the Skins with Palmer would be scary good. Palmer is over rated but he is head and shoulders better then Rex and Beck.
No on Palmer, he doesn't help the Skins in the future and it would go against their plan.
Yeah, Palmer is not what he once was but I almost sense he's underrated at this point. He's a guy who just finds a way to get the job done. And I think on the type of team you guys have thats the kind of QB you need. Not flashy but smart. A clear upgrade over your Qbs now and probably your options for 2012. Hypothetically, if he was your QB right now I would be betting on you guys to be a playoff team.

Palmer handled this whole thing bad. It's almost reminiscient of Ray Lewis' contract talks in 2004. Oh hey look, they had the same agent.
Dunn's MO is to get his players to stomp their feet and get what they want. Unfortunately for him, he was up against a bigger idiot than himself in Mike Brown.
Dunn once again backed his guy into a corner. Palmer should at least follow through on his threat and retire instead of using it as leverage at this point because it's not going to work. Once the deadline passes, Palmer is going to still be throwing passes to his neighbors.
If by that you mean he goes out plays the vast majority of games and throws passes then sure, but otherwise I'd like to know what this job he's getting done entails.
Is going 46-51 getting the job done? 0-2 in the playoffs? 86.9 QB rating? Low 80's since coming back from injury?
