Hopefully the first thing Hunter does is take the C off Ovie's sweater and make someone earn it.

I'm not sure if it was to that degree that you seem to think here. Well coached teams play better than not well coached teams. But Ovie doesn't seem like the kind of guy to just give up on a game. Semin needs his head straightened out, but I'm not sure they were tanking for him to get fired.
They were playing at a level that he deserved to get fired, that'll I'll def. agree with.

I watched him stand still in a few games recently. (Ovi) He has NEVER stood still on the ice before, and it all started when he got benched for OT earlier this season. That's not coaching, that's being lazy, and he's never been a lazy player before. We'll see tonight, but it struck me as really off.

My girlfriends friend has luxury box for tomorrow's Pens/Caps game.
I may murder her and wear her skin.

I was hoping to just ignore this because I was touting this guy to get a role on the big club to start the year...but Sjogren is leaving the team to go back to Sweden. MAJOR burned bridges in the process too. He was called "nothing better than a 4th line C" and told if he wants to quit now then "we don't want him here".
Brutal stuff. Missed on that one...sucks.
You're going to see some trades soon. Hunter is evaluating and the deal is he's supposed to give GMGM a list of guys he doesn't want in a couple weeks.

Bruce probably wasn't too surprised by his early exit this season, he is pretty used to early exits.

Tough news there, we seem to either hit a homerun (Backstrom, MJ90) or strikeout (Sjogren, Gustafsson) with the Swedes no in between there.
So if Hunter is making a list of guys he doesn't want I'm sure Semin will be at the top of the list, but who else could be on it? Hamrlik maybe?

Went to the game last night, my first one of the season. The crowd was a bit lethargic except for when we all got to scream "UNLEASH THE FURY!" For those who haven't experienced the late game tradition check this out, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd9Ez...eature=related it's a lot of fun.
MJ90 was the catalyst for most of our offensive opportunities, man that guy can fly! Ovi had a couple of his classic explosions down the left side but seemed to mishandle the puck or simply get beat by the defender every time. The most impressive player on the ice might've been Erik Karlsson for the Sens though, he's going to be special.
Good to see Hunter get his first win, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

Glad you got to catch "the fury". They don't do it at all the games, just when it's close and there is a timeout at the end (or they squeeze it in before OT starts). An OT win is a good game to go to, but yeah I expect the crowds are beaten down a little bit right now because of the losing streak. It will get better.
I'm holding back a lot of my games to go to til later in the season, just too busy with the holidays right now. Hopefully they will work things out and start scoring again, but I'm getting the impression it's going to be a defensive based system, which is going to turn off a lot of casual fans.
