Tu Holloway Suspended First Game Because of (Dumb) NCAA Violation

XU guard Tu Holloway will miss the season's first game because of a secondary violation of NCAA rules

Sources believe Holloway played in two summer basketball leagues. The NCAA allows players to participate in only one. #xavier
I know most, if not all, of you don't care about Xavier basketball, but this must be one of the dumbest NCAA rules out there, IMO.

    Thoughts?

Oh my, what a horrible person this guy must be to play in two sumer leagues.

It's a stupid rule, but the coaches should have been on tope of this, IMO.

It is a stupid rule but I think the 1 game suspension is proper. Two summers ago at a summer league, we couldn't even record a few of the games for recruiting purposes because 2 significant players from a Big East program showed up weren't cleared to play. They were accompanied by a few guys who looked as if they wouldn't be too afraid to take on Michael Clarke Duncan.

I still gave the go ahead to record from the press box at the university we were playing knowing we could never release the videos.

I know what you are saying sk but it's tough for coaches to be on top of everything even when it's a superstar like Tu Holloway. The amount of stuff that happens behind the scenes is way too much for just the head coach and the coaching staff to control.

Yeah O, I saw most of the first half, and then tuned in again once the lead was cut down to ten. (Switching back with the Gonzaga game before that along with some college football.)

The senior point guard hit a clutch 3-pointer, then another, and yet another one, helping Xavier rally from a 19-point second-half deficit to a 66-63 win over Purdue on Saturday. With defenders right on him, Holloway hit 3 consecutive 3s and scored Xavier?s final 11 points in the closing minute and 48 seconds.

Check out my latest post in the other thread (if you didn't see all of the highlights). My friend made a compilation of our comeback.

Tu was an absolute beast down the stretch. Thought GW had a good chance there for a while. Should be a great finish to the A10 regular season and another good showing in Atlantic City.
