    IR List Grows

The injured reserve list has quadrupled since the bye week. Add Cooley and Hightower to the list.

I haven't seen the corresponding roster moves, but I'd bet that we'll see Royster added. For the second vacancy, I see one of two things happening, Clemens is added as a third QB or Kareem Moore comes off of PUP. There's no need to pick up a TE with Sellers looking for something to do.

So I was way off. They picked up an interior lineman (Compas) and a TE (Byrd) who preceded Davis at USC.

Odd that they'll only go with 2 RBs especially with torain's injury history.

Picking up another TE seems odd. They actually threw to Paulsen last game, and Sellers is still on the roster. Do they not feel any more comfortable activating him on a weekly basis? Byrd has done almost zilch in the league. He barely made Seattle's roster this year and quickly got cut. He made Arizona's roster two years ago and got no game action. He played a bit for the Rams in '06 and '07, scoring his only career TD (one of six career receptions) against the Redskins in late '06. Like Davis, he started playing TE as a sophomore at USC, and his stats are comparable to Davis' as a sophomore and junior (maybe a little better, actually), but he regressed during his senior season and went to the Rams in the third round in '06. He has a similar body type to Davis, though possibly a little slower. He was highly touted coming out of high school in Minnesota, but got slowed by injuries during his college years. NFL career totals: 15 games, six receptions, 83 yards, one touchdown. He is a project, and I don't know why he's here, unless they've totally given up on Sellers.

It's curious they couldn't find a way to fit Royster in, unless this evolving TE situation is the means to do that, and the Tristan Davis signing is just to have additional RB depth on the practice squad.
