Anyone get this yet? I'm thinking of going to this vice getting MW3.
I have it. Awesome game. Much different than the Call of Duty games. Much larger maps, requires teamwork, solider roles (ammo supply, medic, recon, engineer), and vehicles. It's not really about who gets the most kills, but who contributes the most to his/her team. The game rewards you for doing your job and working as a team.
The online multiplayer in BF kills MW. I've heard the single player campaign isn;t that great in Battlefield so I would expect MW3 to be much better in that regard but only in that regard.
Haha. Well, that doesn't happen. But your team loses "tickets" because of your deaths. Once you run out of tickets, your team loses. In conquest, if you hold more capture points, your tickets won't be depleted as quickly.
Player standings are based around points. You earn points for everything. You get 100 points for a kill, but you could get 450 points for capturing a base. You get heal points in 20 point chunks. The same goes for ammo supply and tank/helicopter repair as well. You could get over 60 points just from helping out one person with ammo. Drop an ammo box in a fire fight and watch the points climb.
For everyone that has the game, make sure you activate your battlelog account (http://battlelog.battlefield.com). We'll be able to get an OH Platoon going on there.
burds13 here.
For PS3 that is. Anyone who wants to, hit me up.
Russell2277 on the ps3
Really tempted to get this, but I think I'll have to wait until I can score it used $40 or less on eBay (probably a month or so). I bought Dark Souls new, and the ICO/SotC remake, so my video game budget is shot for a while.
Pre-ordered it for PC. It's living up to the massive hype. Friggin awesome game. I'd describe the gameplay a mix of BF2, BC2 and COD/CS:S. The movement is MUCH quicker and weapon feel and effectiveness is a lot closer to COD/CS:S feeling than any previous battlefield game. It's by FAR the best Battlefield game to date when it comes to infantry combat. This game has come a looooong way from BF2 with regards to that. Then you add in the huge maps and vehicles and it makes for some seriously fun gameplay.
Keep in mind you're going to need the latest and greatest hardware to have this game be playable at higher settings. That's probably the biggest downside.
...that and where are the horns on jeeps?!![]()
Oh, well, I probably won't be getting it then. I understand why they do that, and don't have a real problem with it, but it's not the kind of game I would be buying for the single-player campaign.
Though, I would prefer if it was something like, the game comes with 1-3 online maps plus a code to unlock like 5-7 more, that they would sell for the $15. That way, people could still get it used and play online but be very limited.

Best multiplayer game I've ever played, especially w/ the Turtle Beach headset (thanks Bauer.) The audio is absolutely astonishing. Tony, if you're big into multiplayer, this is an absolute no brainer.
