I think a giant (oh yeah, I did that) difference is that Giants won't attack you unless you go wander through their camp or attack them first. Deathclaws, meanwhile, seemed to be able to sense your presence from a half a mile away and mess your stuff up before you had a chance to react.

If you manage to get the drop on both, though? They're pretty similar. Though giants aren't anywhere near the hardest enemies in Skyrim. I know there's a minotaur lord somewhere out there, and if he's anything like he was in Oblivion, I don't want to meet him.

I started over and did a Redguard. WAY more my style. Dual wielding some axes with perks all through one-handed. I crushed the tomb dungeon.

Managed to break the game with max enchanting and smithing. Wearing full Daedric and dual-wielding I have ~900 armor, super high magic resist and can pretty much plow through anything in seconds on Master... whoops

Honestly that would make me not want to even play. But kudos to you, max enchanting is pretty boss!

Did you just smith iron daggers and then enchant them with like petty souls or lesser souls?

More or less, Dwemer ruins are the best source of soul gems

Skyrim in hand. Paid just over $25 after trading in all the COD's except Black Ops. Must endure hanging with gorgeous GF till days end to delve in.

I've joined the Fighters/Companions and Mages Guilds thus far.

I'm looking forward to joining the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood Guild. For the latter, I've already spoken to the err... interesting Cicero (i.e., the jester) north of Whiterun and completed his mission. It's not a prerequisite for joining the Dark Brotherhood, but I've heard it leads to some additional dialouge choices with him down the line.

Really stoked. Played a little last night and all day today. Level 7 and haven't really started the main quest other than reporting the dragon to the dude in Whiterun. Moving along pretty quick with the College of Winterhold though. Pretty soon it will be off to join the Stormcloaks and the Dark Brotherhood. I'm a stealthy mage kinda, but I'm not above breaking the law to support my means.

Damn that really sounds super dorky.

So I'm about 8 hours in and have yet to see a Dragon. I do have the ability to be a werewolf now though. Now that my character is a little bit stronger I'm starting to explore more and hope/expect to see a dragon soon.

I've killed two dragons thus far. One was part of an early main story quest. The other was a random encounter.

I don't think I've done any main story quests yet besides the first one.
