If you're not busy this afternoon, if you get the national Fox Sports Network, Xavier takes on Memphis in a pivotal game for both teams at 1 PM. Memphis RPI is 25, while Xavier's is 46 so it could really help both teams' resumes.

They've been two of the more disappointing NCAA teams so far this season.

X lost to Memphis yesterday after being up by 10 with 6:00 to go. The Muskies controlled pretty much all of the 2nd half, but choked in the last few minutes due to poor offense and some "Ole!" defense. At this point in the season, my optimism has completely disappeared, as the team will need to get some good wins on the road in order to reach the tournament. It's crucial to win the remaining home games (Rhode Island, Dayton, Richmond, Charlotte) and at least 1, if not 2, of the road games (Temple, UMass, St. Louis). Those 3 will be tough.

You're probably more clued into what they need to do than me, but I think they need at least 2 of those road games and at least the semi's of the A10 tourney.

The pessimistic side of me agrees with you. I think we'll need a strong showing in Atlantic City, something that we never really do.

Fact of the matter is at this point, Xavier is 3rd in the A10. The A10 is full of parity this year, so it'll be interesting to see how many bids they get. If I'm the committee, I give the league 3 teams. I think if Xavier loses only 1-2 more games in the regular season and has a decent showing in Atlantic City, we should be OK for a 8-12 seed. If we somehow win out, that could get bumped up to a 6 seed.

Truthfully, I haven't followed much of the rest of the "bubble" teams, so I'm not sure how anyone else is faring.

Yet another absolutely insane game for one of the very best rivalries in the history of sports. This is why I look forward to that twice a year. Wow!

UNC should have pressed down when their foot was on their throats.

I generally root for the road team in these games so the crowd can go home sad.

    Should be a good rematch.

I think UNC was up 11 or 12 with about 4 minutes left, and I just had a feeling Duke would make a run. This is what the rivalry does.

In the last few minutes, they went away from Barnes and Zeller. Go to them and they win the game.

UNC scored 1 point in the last 2:30 minutes or so and was outscored 19-7 when UNC was up 77-66 late.

Yup, UNC up 10 as well with 2 minutes left. Ridiculous finish, Rivers ice in his veins. Zeller was the goat in this game. (stating the obvious)

I thought the game was over as well but Duke as they’ve shown year in year out, are never out of it until the clock hits 0.

Should have put them away long before it got close..They hit 14 threes to our 1..Credit where it's due, Rivers was a beast, kudos to him.

    This rivalry NEVER disappoints.

Wow two great finishes on ESPN tonight, both the Georgetown-Syracuse and the stunner in Chapel Hill.

Live and die by the 3, Duke. It worked tonight. UNC choked that double-digit lead with 2 minutes left and Duke took advantage.

There are some things I don't like about Rivers' game, but he was on fire last night. I still think Carolina is much better than Duke this year, but I'll take the stolen win. Whatever happens the rest of the year, Duke fans will always have this one to see on highlight reels for years to come when they show those "Duke-UNC Classic" montages during game promos.
