Wall and McGee played very well yesterday. The team actually had a pretty good second half, but they were doomed by their first half (in particular, first quarter). Boston played a lot of bench players in the second half as well, so who knows what effect that had. Blatche continues to look like one of the worst players on the team.

Right now, I would start Wall, Young, Singleton, Booker, and McGee. Rashard hasn't played poorly, but he's not part of the future. Play Blatche alongside Turiaf. Flip also needs to get Jordan Crawford in check. There's talent there, but his shot selection is putrid.

Agreed, 100%. Run the 2nd-unit offense through Blatche to try to get him some confidence. Turiaf mitigates his defensive/attitude/hustle liabilities.

And you left out that he plays ATROCIOUS defense. He has got to be one of the worst defensive players I've ever seen get appreciable time in an NBA uniform.

Blatche doesn't even count as a PF, he is a FF, Finesse Forward.

The Wiz just STINK there is no other way to put it... We cant hit FT's... cant play defense... they need to trade away probably everyone except Wall/Young/Singleton and start fresh.. Javale and Andray have to GO !

    0-5.

Flip was tossed within the first two minutes tonight after Rashard Lewis was assaulted by some white bum on Boston with no call.

All is well in Wizard Land.

Prediction, Flip fired before February. I think Ernie might be nearing the end too. I'd love to see them bring Rex Chapman back to be GM and bring in a younger recently playing coach that the young guys can relate and look up to.

I see some more trades on the horizon too. If NY isn't the answer they want at the 2, then build his value and trade him to LAC. This is a terrible team, and they need to find a way to get a star. I don't think Wall is a star, I think he's going to be a great complimentary piece to one though.

Rashard Lewis, since they have to pay him anyway?

I'm as doom and gloom about this team as anyone, but I don't think it should go understated how well McGee is playing. Not only is he getting his numbers, he's playing a lot more sound game. More solid defense, less just sizing up blocks. He's not a finished product by any stretch of imagination, but he's poised to turn in a really strong season.

Through his first 5 games.. 13.8 PPG 11.0 RPG 2.4 BPG 1.2 SPG

It's just been a very solid effort thus far, one of very few bright spots.

Isn't he like worst on the team in +/- though?

IMO +/- in the NBA is not as important a stat as it is in hockey. Because of the somewhat 1-on-1 nature of the NBA (hell they banned zone defense until a few years ago), it can sometimes be misleading.

JaVale has been the best player on the team so far, which isn't really saying much.

Yeah, I think this is pretty much spot on. I think the stat can have value, but there is a lot to consider. With the Wizards, at any one time they have 3-4 players on the court that either don't hustle, seem confused, or aren't very good.

JaVale also seems to be working hard too. I was watching the Bulls the other night and Joakim Noah in particular. He's one of the best rebounders in the league, not because he can jump out of the gym, but because every time a shot goes up, he's working harder than everyone else on the court. It's wild to watch him when a shot goes up. I've seen a little more of that out of JaVale. Instead of simply relying on a friendly bounce or being able to outjump the other guy (which he usually can), he's putting a little more effort into the art of rebounding.

I'm not ready to call him an all star or anything, but I do believe the sky is the limit for him.

Flip is the worst coach in the NBA. Not only do the players look lost but he no idea what he is doing substitution wise.

Also, the refs are allowing Howard to do anything he wants.

I'd like to say we're at it now, but I don't think. The Magic aren't even very good this year and they are just completely outplaying the Wiz.

Flip really needs to go. It's obvious he can't get through to these guys.
