He also seems to have improved his ball handling skills during the off-season. This should be a huge year for him and the Thunder.
Durant/LeBron might be the best MVP race in history. OMG, I love the NBA.

Yeah, well you can't count out Rose either unless the voters realize they made a mistake last year and that Rose isn't a top 5 player. But of course Rose is young and can become a top 5 player this year. I also wouldn't be surprised if Chris Paul ends up a serious contender. Then there's Howard who is a consistent contender, but who knows with him this year.

But yes, James and Durant are remarkable players and the race should be great. I favor Durant in it because of perception more so than who the better player is.

I would think it'll come down to those two, and Durant is seemingly such a good dude, that it would be tough to deny him. To his credit, LeBron seems to really be working on his image this season. Basketball wise, it's going to be beyond awesome.

I'm liking my thought that the Knicks are overrated.

Bad defense, two overrated superstars that don't complement each other that well, and a poor supporting cast after the top 3 or 4 once Baron comes back.

Yeah, I don't see that team going very far either. I also agree with the SGs comments about the Lakers being very underwhelming. I'm rooting hard for the Thunder this season. That team is unbelievably fun to watch.

Will the Wizards ever win a game?

A big key for them will be the development of Toney Douglass.

The T-Wolves may not be able to win a game (18 straight losses), but they have taken two of the best teams in the league to the wire and are playing some exciting basketball with Rubio leading the way in that department.

If I had to choose only 5 teams to watch, I think I'd actually probably pick the Wolves.

Lakers, Heat, Clippers, Thunder, and Bulls or Wolves.

Caught the second half of the Bulls/Clippers game last night. The Bulls were extremely impressive and seem to be very cohesive. I don't think I've seen anyone as fast with the basketball as Derrick Rose.

Bynum is such a beast when healthy and featured on offense!

The Lakers only hope of being a legit contender is if he becomes an elite player this year and him, Kobe, and Gasol remain relatively healthy.

I think the former is very realistic.

Bynum can definitely be an elite player...just has to stay healthy and actually get the ball.

Rubio was my pick for ROY and he is so much fun to watch. He is definitely going to find himself in the tier outside of the top 5-8 players in the league. By that I mean when you get asked "who is the one player you would take to build a team around." He won't be the first 5 names on that last but very soon he might be the 9th, 10th guy you list.

Kobe with a 6-28 effort in a loss to the Nuggets.

Rondo continues to impress with a triple double today of 18, 11, and 14.

The Grizzlies lost by 40 to the Bulls!

But most importantly, the T-Wolves finally win a game! And against the defending champs for good measure. Love with 25 and 17 and Rubio chipped in 14 and 7 dimes.

And I guess DeMarcus Cousins has demanded a trade. Lots of talent, but character is a big question mark. Kind of like a younger Zach Randolph.

Man my fantasy team has already hit the skids. I got Cousins who I guess is banned from the Kings, Blatche is awful (see the Wizards thread) and Amare is out with an ankle sprain.

    Just lovely.

Manu and Zach Randolph are both out for quite a bit of time. Big blows for both teams.
