    Snubbed Again!

WTF does London Fletcher have to do to be recognized? JUST play for a winner? Really? Or be a bombastic jackass? I don't know.... Just as sure as Christmas comes, comes a snub of London Fletcher in the Pro Bowl.

It's an absolute joke that he didn't make the Pro Bowl. If Dan Snyder wanted to gain a little good will he'd give London a bonus check commensurate with what he would have earned playing in the game.

I'd be bitter too. Getting elected to your league's All-Star Game is an honor and a reflection on your play. Fletcher (I believe) led the NFL in tackles this year and doesn't make it? Joke.

He could cure cancer and not get recognition for it. Ridiculous.

Well, technically leading the league in tackles is more a reflection of a bad defense letting players into the 2nd level than it is an amazing player, BUT I still think he should have been in because of the plays in the backfield he makes.

Exactly...he isn't just in one spot all the time, or even one level. He more than does his job, and many times has to make up for someone not doing theirs. Ponder knows he does his job....

The Pro Bowl selections are largely based on reputation and popularity. See certain defenders on the Ravens.

    Or Antonio Gates and Freeney.

Hey allstar, did you happen to see who made it at CB?

Yeah I did. Threw up in my mouth a little bit too, but in my defense, he caught more balls this year than he did his whole career here.

    Yes he did.

However, catching a few more balls doesn't propel him from awful to pro bowl level. Meaning he wasn't awful to begin with.

I think this is the league's way of getting back at him for that cowardly cheap shot on Brady.

    Insert sarcasm emoticon.

My problem with him was always that he was terrible at defending passes and making picks. I want nothing to do with a CB that can't catch. Apparently he can catch on the west coast. And as far as popularity bowl, er...pro bowl elections go, yeah catching a few balls does make that much difference. It's the "sexy" stats that get them in there every year. Good for him, too bad it didn't happen here, but if it magically happens while he's out there either he was in the wrong system, or it was all in his head, and either way I'm ok with him being gone. I want the right players here, not great players in other systems that don't play well here...we are notorious for those (Lloyd, Haynesworth, Carter although his problem was the 3-4, Ryan Clark, etc.)

Well I'll take a CB that can cover people well even if he doesn't have good hands. Your criticism of him was always over the top. Yes, it would be great if he would have held onto more picks, but he was still solid with the Skins.

Would you have paid Rogers "top 3" cornerback money to keep him? He stated on Lavar's radio show that is what the Redskins needed to do to keep him. For that, I have no problems letting him go. Good for him on making the Pro Bowl. This secondary is a weak link, but I don't miss 22 at all. Talented, but outside of Haynesworth and Lloyd, I don't there's been a player that I've liked less in recent history.

If there is a lessen here somewhere, it would be that they should target guys with talent who just can't find themselves on their existing team. Guys who have something to prove. Two TEs that I think may fit that bill are Pettigrew and Bennett.
