    Just got an Xbox

Yep, talked the wife into it over the last week.

I traded in our Wii to Gamestop and got 130 bucks for that and 4 games. I bought a 4GB and the Kinect and COD: MW3.

I beat MW3 in about 3 days on the second setting. I was kinda dissapointed that it was so short. I do love the Special Ops missions though.

I signed up for Live but I don't have a headset yet. I guess I'll need one.

I like shooters the most but what other games do you guys recommend?

Thanks. Here's to neglecting my responsibilites every night!

I generally just buy the well-reviewed / highly-ambitious games because I'm more curious about the development of gameplay and aesthetics than I am a gamer. That said, games I've played and recommend:

Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas
    GTA III and GTA IV
    COD:MW2 and MW3
    Red Dead Redemption
    LA Noire

I bought, but never really got into, Batman: Arkham Asylum (not a comics guy) and Bioshock (which is apparently fantastic. May replay).

Of all of them, I think Red Dead Redemption might have been the best, though I'm a big fan of the Fallout games, too.

Mass Effect 1 & 2 are fantastic games as are the Elder Scrolls games made by Bethesda who also made Fallout 3. If you like shooters I would also recommend picking up the Gears games.

Just getting into Skyrim now. Impressive, if a little D&D for my taste. I've played the Gears games, but they're so stripped of anything but mayhem shooting that they're not among my favorites. Great at what they do, though.

Games like Skyrim and Fallout are great b/c they provide so much bang for your buck. I'm close to 30 hours into Skyrim and no where near finishing the game!

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I might look into Skyrim and Battlefield and maybe Fallout.

My kids are never going to get to play this thing.

Here's one no one will probably bring up, but it's a ton of fun: Mafia II

Great story and the ending gives enough satisfaction yet leaves enough up in the air that you'll be waiting for Mafia III.

RDR is probably my favorite game available for the 360. Either that or Skyrim.

I'll take your advice and pick it up tonight.

Buying used games at Gamestop seems like the way to go, no?

I buy them new, but have no good reason for why I do. RDR is beautiful, with really great, expansive gameplay.

I agree with everything posted thus far and want to add the Batman games from Rocksteady as well... Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
